I purchased the Electric Lime and the overall appearance is great, no finish problems what-so-ever. Gibson has definitely upped their game with their 2012 models, the truss rod cover says Studio but this in no way feels like a lesser version of a Standard or Traditional. My only nitpick is I wish the knobs were more flush with the body and a little less stiff, other than that I can't find a single thing I don't like about this guitar. Before this guitar I was 100% a PRS man, but now Gibson has definitely earned my respect.

Terrible!
This Les Paul represents the epitome of what has happened to Gibson over the past two decades. Terrible selection of tone woods, paint blemishes, horrid factory set-up, improperly filed frets, etc.

I purchased this with high hopes, but I was kidding myself. This guitar doesn't even come close in quality, playability and tone to my ESP Eclipse, or Hagstrom Ultraswede. Aside from several factory paint blemishes (runs in the paint), The action was so high that even after a truss adjustment I couldn't get it near where my other guitars are. The guitar resonated poorly, the frets hung over the edges of the fretboad (the wood on the fretboard is horrid). I could go on....but why?
Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
this is an addition, you know right up to the return date I toyed with different les paul types and they ALL fell short. I tried everything and they either had bad fret jobs, horrible sound or were just plain junk. its just all around a great sounding and playing guit. so it looks funny,,,big deal. gibson as long as they concentrate on whats important in the long run, they will still come out ahead!

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
This axe is as hot sounding as it is looking. I got the Orange Glow which is killer. Not for everyone but I have traditional Les Pauls and this is truly eye candy. Of course I wouldn't rave about it if it didn't sound and play great which it does. The coil splitting is terrific and really captures that twangy sound of single coil pickups.

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! I had bought a used Les Paul Studio over 10 years ago. While it had great tone I found that the frets were too large for me (jumbo size), the weight was too much (like a cinder block around my neck) and the tuners had plastic knobs and did not keep the guitar in tune very well. While I knew I would miss that great Les Paul tone I sold that guitar with few regrets. I bought this guitar on Black Friday and I am so glad that I did. It is a gorgeous guitar with a Vibrant Red paint job and chrome hardware. The tuners work great, the neck is slim, fast and comfortable with regular sized frets. The overall weight is so comfortable it feels like you could play the guitar for days. The lighter weight does not affect the spectacular Les Paul tone from the dual humbuckers. The bridge pickup rocks hard and the neck pickup delivers a great, sweet tone. The fact that Gibson provided coil taps is icing on the cake - it makes this guitar so much more versatile. I have seen reviews that complain that the coil taps stick out too far. Really? It is not noticeable to me and even if they did stick out they will not get in the way of your playing this gorgeous guitar. I would recommend this guitar to any Les Paul fan. This model was a limited run is now discontinued so be prepared to see their prices rise once word gets out about what a great guitar this is.

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I own multiple MIM Strats, an Epiphone Les Paul and a few Ibanez hollow body guitars, and this guitar is in another world of quality and feel. I have not had the guitar set-up, just replaced the strings for my favorites, but no complaints about it to begin with. Neck is wider than what I am used to but is thin enough to play comfortably. The weight distribution makes the guitar comfortable to hold and play at any angle or height. No the most expensive guitar in the world, but for an entry level Made in USA guitar I am impressed. The only flaws in it were some minor spots in paint that were just overlooked, not damage, just imperfections. Nothing I can't live with though and I'm pretty picky about aesthetics.

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
My first LP, and I am really satisfied. Sustain, crunch, tone - all the things that LPs are known for are here. When this went on sale, I really thought I should buy because I was starting to see fewer and fewer of these available in all colors - I wondered if they are discontinuing this finish. I have bought a few guitars in the past few years and was never quite happy with them. I bought this to replace a lawsuit era Ibanez LP copy (a really good guitar, but showing some wear after 30 years)and know I have a better instrument now. Feel, tone, harmonics, classic humbucker sound - all here. No frills on a studio model, but I don't need frills. I may never buy another guitar. I am getting all kinds of great sounds through a Tweaker head.

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I compared this to a top of the line epiphone. It blew the epi,all the way back to china.DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU A MADE IN CHINA IS ANYWHERE NEAR,ITS NOT. and coming from someone that was never a les paul or gibson fan ,at that, means alot. sound is nice and soulful, ease of play is great for someone with hand issues, much to my surprise, does the metal and the clean.bang on right out of the box!!!had to fight with epi to get it to sound good, needed too many adjustments and for a slim heavy metal neck i found it more of a chore to play. I am pleasantly surprised, for the price, do yourself a favour, if you want a les paul, save some more and get a real gibson. I have no idea how it will stand up to the test of time,i have the feeling it will do fine

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I wanted to love this guitar but it fell short in quality control. 2 dings on the neck were noticed right out of the box and another wood imperfection on the body. Knobs are approx. 1/2 inch off the body in normal postition and full inch when pulled out and hard to turn. Grover tuners seem sloppy at best wont even stay in tune after multiple stretching of the strings. I'm probably returning it "( .... Sad I am. Maybe i just got the lemon.

Comments about Gibson Nitrous Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I had a Gibson Studio in 2004 and sold it. This one plays much better, has Grover tuners. Much better finish. 60's neck. There's no comparison. Buy this while they are available. You won't be sorry!
