A masterpiece, this Gibson SJ-200 EC Acoustic Electric Guitar is the same tonal powerhouse that's been gracing the world's finest stages since the 1930s, made modern by the addition of a cutaway and state-of-the-art electronics. AAA flamed maple back and sides add visual and auditory punch. Top-flight appointments include 3-rope marquetry on the back, 6-ply top and 4-ply back binding, gold Gotoh tuners, Fishman Ellipse Aura Electronics Package, inlaid rosewood moustache bridge, and Madagascar rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl crown inlays on the maple neck. A premium Sitka spruce top with tortoise pickguard generates truly sublime, perfectly balanced tone.
Fishman Ellipse Aura Electronics Package
Gibson’s J-200 Standard comes equipped with a built-in Fishman Ellipse Aura electronics package, which combines Fishman’s most sophisticated onboard preamp design with the power of the popular Aura Acoustic Imaging Technology. The result is acoustic sound that is exceptionally accurate and true to life. Already loaded onto the system are four images that best match the instrument’s natural tonal characteristics. You can make adjustments to any of them using the system’s Pickup/Image Blend or Volume controls, or use the switchable Natural I and Natural II low frequencies for tone shaping. You can also control feedback with the Phase switch and automatic Anti-Feedback device control. The pickup's ergonomic soundhole-mounted design puts slider controls at your fingertips so you can maintain a natural playing position at all times.

Just purchased this for myself locally at a Gibson dealer. I brought both my CL-50 Supreme and my J-185 EC Custom shop to compare the natural tone and it did great. Upon playing through a Marshall AS100D acoustic amp I found the sound balanced and the action on the neck smooth.As an owner of 5 wonderful Gibson's already, I found this a great addition after such a long wait to get this piece I've long desired.

I ordered the SJ-200 EC from local gibson dealer based only on the gibson name, reputation and prestige (I couldn?t find a floor model to play first). Setup: certified gibson repair shop-(otherwise warranty voided). Breakdown: sounds good-but not as angelic as I had hoped. Setup is low as it will go using light gauge strings. That said, I find it hard to play up-the-neck chords for any length of time(it is 'tight', not 'loose'), has a thick neck, my hand starts to cramp. Seems well suited for picking. Notes punch out of the mix both acoustically and PA. Electronics are semi-complicated, more ?professional? than I am used to. Sound adjusts from thick-woody to thin-plastic. Can blend between the bridge pickup and internal mic. I would not have purchased this highdollar guitar if I had played it first. Nice, but doesnt fit my playing style. Official Gibson dealers should be required to carry a floor model for everything Gibson makes.

This Guitar Is Definately One Of THE BEST Acoustics Out There. It's Tone Is Awesome Beyond Belief!! The Body Is A Little Big....But That's What Gives It Its Incredible Tone.
