Vented openings in body and headstock.
Creativity has always been the backbone of ingenuity at Gibson USA, and the Holy V Flying V ” Guitar of the Month, January 2009 ” is the latest example of Gibson's imaginative spirit. The traditional features of the Flying V are apparent in the Holy V guitar - the mahogany V-shaped body, pointed headstock, and hybrid neck profile are all true to the original's design. Both the neck and headstock have carefully carved vented openings giving the Holy V a more intense look and character, while ending up as one of Gibson's lightest production guitars to date.
The Gibson Holy V's neck ” topped by an ebony fingerboard with split diamond inlays and single-ply binding ” carries two additional frets, preserving the Flying V's traditional 24-inch scale length wile delivering an even higher register of notes to a guitar already famous for its exceptional lead-playing ability. The Holy-V sports a single '57 Classic pickup in the bridge position, supplying that classic Gibson PAF crunch and power. Other Holy-V guitar features include Steinberger gearless tuners for smooth tuning action and accuracy, and a custom Guitar of the Month case from Gibson USA. Like all Gibson USA's Guitar of the Month models, production is limited to just 1,000 guitars.

The neck plays like butter with .009s and still wonderful with .010s. Very light and is good for playing all night and the tuning is pretty stable. The pickup really surprised me and was way hotter than I expected-nails old Van Halen tone through a high gain amp and has bite on the treble side. Great sustain and the body resonates like a tuning fork. Very impressive on stage too, I get many comment as you can imagine.
