OVERVIEW

A factory-modded version of Leo's traditional single-cutaway with a neck humbucker.

The G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy is a factory-modded version of Leo's final word on the traditional single-cutaway bolt-on axe. For players looking for the unmistakable warmth of a classic humbucker in the neck position, the Bluesboy delivers with a well-balanced pairing of a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover alnico humbucker and a single-coil G&L Magnetic Field Design bridge pickup designed by Leo Fender. Framed in a classic boxed-steel bridge, the single-coil MFD bridge pickup delivers crisp attack with complex harmonics while individual brass saddles offer modern levels of intonation refinement. Flip to the neck ˜bucker and you'll discover all the charismatic warmth you could ask for. Put ˜em together and you'll find yourself immersed in exploring the limits of this guitar's surprising versatility.

The Bluesboy's hard-rock maple neck features an easy-playing satin finish, while its 12" radius lets you bend notes deeply and its Plek-dressed medium-jumbo nickel frets deliver silky playability. The moment you open the luxurious custom-fit Tolex hardshell case made by G&G Quality Case Co., you'll be greeted with a stunning instrument.

Comments about G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Electric Guitar:

The G&L asat American bluesboy, is fast becoming my #1. Simple controls--easy to play--love the humbucker. Build quality is outstanding. The more I hear it, the more I want to play it. It's pretty to look at, but I bought it for the humbucker--and it delivers. It has a unique sound--I hope to discover all its possibilities over the next several years. An inspirational purchase.

Comments about G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar for 44 years and have owned, borrowed and played dozens of electric guitars - from the cheap Asian knock-offs all the way to the $5000 respected brands. I own many guitars, but in all of these years, I've never found my "Macabre", "Lucille", or "Blackie" like Keith Richards, BB King and Eric Clapton had... The closest I came to 'owning' a guitar is with my 1990 Rickenbacker 360, and perhaps, my Fender Strat (which I rebuilt to Robin Trower's own specs), but I still felt empty... Then came the day a few weeks ago when I purchased a gently used 2007 G&L ASAT Bluesboy. I always wanted a '61 Fender Telecaster Signature model of Albert Collins', with the Gibson HB in the neck position and a standard Tele pickup in the bridge position, but I didn't want to fork over another $3500 for a guitar. When I saw this G&L ASAT Bluesboy, the setup looked just like Collins' Tele, so I tried it out, and suddenly, the heavens opened up and birds started making bows in my hair! What I instantly noticed was the extremely comfortable, fast playing neck. It's a C-shape, but the jumbo frets and action setup was flawless. Bending strings and sustaining notes on this neck is better than any neck I've ever played before. By itself, the Seymour Duncan HB in the neck position is warm and textured for blues, and especially jazz. The HB and Seymour Duncan single coil in the bridge position create a similar Telecaster tone, but it's a bit warmer and without the biting spank of the single coil - it's a bit difficult to explain, but take my word on it: you've never heard a tone quite like it before, it's brilliant, warm and bluesy. The power of this guitar is really in the single coil pickup in the bridge position. It's built like a tank and fully adjustable (poles too) but I never needed to touch it. The single-coil tone by itself is frosty-bright. The workmanship is solid and absolutely gorgeous - I finally found my guitar!
