OVERVIEW

The G&L ASAT Classic is Leo's final word on the traditional single-cutaway bolt-on axe. Framed in a classic boxed-steel bridge, the single-coil Magnetic Field Design bridge pickup created by Leo Fender delivers crisp attack with complex harmonics while individual brass saddles offer modern levels of intonation refinement. Flip to the single-coil MFD neck pickup and you'll discover a delectably rich tonal palette, from round clean jazz tones to thick, gritty blues. Put them together and you'll find a whole other level of heaven.

Case sold separately.

Familiar body, bolt-on maple neck and Leo Fender-designed single-coil pickups.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought this on a whim because I was bored. I have played literally hundreds of guitars. Every type you can think of I'm pretty sure. I have never bonded with an instrument in the same way as I have with this guitar. For 2 years I have put off saying this because of a misplaced sense of elitism that told me that a guitar made in Indonesia couldn't be my number one. Well there's no denying it ladies and gentlemen. I play through a black face Deluxe Reverb Reissue with only a compressor, a delay for some slap back, and an overdrive for smaller venues. I can get more useable tones out of this guitar than any other I've ever played. Sometimes I actually want to pinch myself when I hear what's coming out of the speaker just to make sure I'm not dreaming. I play it plugged in, unplugged, still sounds terrific. The feel is fantastic. The neck is a medium c. I usually gravitate to a boat neck but it really doesn't bother me. The only knock I have is that there is some fret buzz. It's not cripplingand it's not an expensive fix, but the only reason I have done it is because I don't want to be without it for the week or so my guy will take to turn it around for a level and crown! Please note, this is not a replacement for a Telecaster. It's undeniable that the Tele lineage exists, but this is hear more to the rock end of the spectrum. The pickups are to die for. I have never owned a guitar for this kind of money and wouldn't consider using out the pickups. Finally, this is truly a working man's guitar. You can drop it, bang it, beat an intruder with it, and of it gets nicked, you're only out a third of what it would cost you for a new Tele. Get one.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I really like this guitar. I have a Les Paul and was wanting more of a Tele sound. I think this has a bit of a different sound than a Fender Tele, but I prefer it - a little more rock/attitude or something. I can still get that twangy country sound when I want it.

I was really wanting a USA build ASAT, but just couldn't swing the cost at this time. Looking at the photos online, I really didn't like the natural finish, but that's all there is in the lefty. I bought it anyways. Well, it looks much better in person and I really like the look.

There are a few very minor craftsmanship issues, but nothing that is a problem or effects my playing. All-in-all, this is a great sounding guitar that feels great to play and looks good. I'm very happy and will likely get a USA version down the road.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Great worksmanship. Great electronics. Great materials (Swamp Ash is one of my favorite tone wood). There is not much choice out there for us southpaws but one can fortunately come across such a gem once in a while.

Recieved in short time. Look,s good and plays better than the Mexican strat that I own. Good tone and switches are crisp. Very pleased with my purchase. I own 5 guitars and this one is now my favorite. Thanks for your prompt service. Dave

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

this guitar has such great feel and tone, i use roto reds and a VOX ac15c1 the two are one(vox)voice. I use it at church and home and other venues and i play lead, the front switch great rythym tone. throw the lever back and let her eat!!! whether dirty or clean she comes through with a great sound. Leo Fender wanted to take his original sound and put it back out there, here it is!!!!!!!!! BUY ONE! if your not a lefty like me and you got$$$$$ get a Bluesboy- just a step up. I have friends who leave their custom shop Fender tele's at home and bring the G&L's just because it dont say Fender, man dont let that get to you its more Fender than any new model made now in my book. so keep rockin and if your curious try a g&l it will not disapoint, i promise
