OVERVIEW

The ASAT Deluxe Carved Top: one of the beefiest ASATs ever.

One look and you know this ASAT is bad ass. It' fired up with twin chrome-covered Alnico humbuckers “ designed by G&L' Paul Gagon “ mounted in a bound, flame maple-topped mahogany body. This new axe takes the iconic ASAT further into heavy territory while retaining the feel and playability that have made the ASAT a perennial favorite among players. The ASAT Deluxe Carved Top sports an easy-playing 1-5/8 nut-width neck, a classic C-shaped back and 12 fingerboard radius to make deep bends a breeze. Holding it down on the other end is a G&L Saddle Lock bridge designed by Leo Fender for comfort and singing sustain. The Gagon-designed pickups are split via a push/pull tone pot to offer everything from jangly single-coil tones to gritty blues to scorching leads. The ASAT Deluxe Carved Top is just what many ASAT fans have been waiting for: an affordable, well-made alternative to the Fullerton-made G&L ASAT Deluxe.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Deluxe Carved Top Electric Guitar:

When I got this guitar, I nearly sent it back because the sharp fret ends nearly cut my hands off..then I plugged it in and it is an absolute rock machine. Having some experience in guitar repair, I filed the fret ends (took longer than expected) and now plays great. Still a new guitar should not have come in such condition. The pickups are acurately voiced for rock styles and the single coil sound courtesy of the push pull pot sounds pretty good as well. The body is contoured for comfort and the neck has only a hint of finish on it..making it comfortable and fast. I got the see thru red and the flame maple top is first rate. The guitar is very solid feeling. If it weren't for the bad fret job...I would have given it a full five stars. For the money, a really good value. If you're looking for a straight forward rock guitar or overdrive blues machine this is it. Jazz, metal players or blues purists may want to look eleswhere. If the song has a bit of edge to it..this is my new go to guitar.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Deluxe Carved Top Electric Guitar:

Took a chance on this as a "Stupid Deal of the Day" purchase. Glad I did. Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this guitar for the price. Looks great and plays well. None of the quality control issues I had read about. Fretwork is spot on. No sharp ends. The nut slots are cut a little too deep, but that's an easy fix. Electronics seem solid. Good sustain and resonance even with the .09 guage stock strings. This is one of the first guitars where I actually like the sound of the split humbuckers. Not too thin and wimpy. This guitar looks like a Tele, plays like a Strat, and sounds like a Paul. Very cool.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASAT Deluxe Carved Top Electric Guitar:

My new Irish Ale Finished ASAT came thru with no body binding like they're supposed to have, but this thing set up and performs perfect so I hate to part with it now, we'll have to see what happens later but right now, it is a huge keeper. Twin hummers on a tele usually sound mediocre at best, but not these G & L hummers, they sing even with the Ernie Ball 09-42 Slinkys. The push pull option lets you add another dimension of useful sound. The tone suffered when I took of the 10-46 DADs but my old hands cannot handle 10s any more. All in all, so far this is a real gem. Looks perfect, neck finish and fret work is perfect. I'm one happy camper.
