Solid-body design elements meet classical concepts with 13-pin synth access.

The ACS blends a traditional classical approach with modern solid-body touches. The incredibly comfortable neck is joined to a chambered silverleaf maple body and highly figured flamed maple leaf top for stunning looks in this synth access guitar. Although the body is chambered, response from the maple top is more typical of a solid body design than that of a traditional acoustic guitar. This design results in an instrument that is virtually free of feedback, making it easy to use even when the band gets loud.

The engine in the ACS-SA includes individual transducer saddles powered by a customized preamp system from the RMCTM Pickup Company. This system not only produces superb amplified sound, but also produces a hexaphonic output through a 13-pin connector enabling direct access to Roland GR-Series guitar synthesizers.

Beautiful guitar

By WannaBossa-onyEe

I haven't tried any other Godin Nylon string guitar so I can't comment on how this is different. The finish is very nice with the maple woodgrain. The neck is perfect. It's relatively flat and not quite as wide as a true classical. There's also a slimmer neck version Godin Nylon for those who prefer that. The action was set a little high, which Classical players would find fine. But it was an easy job to put in a shim to angle the neck back a bit and now the action is very low without buzzing. The acoustic sound lacks bass when the EQ is set flat but that can be adjusted between the 3-bands. What I like most is the synth access. I use this through a Roland GI-20 and get excellent tracking with minimal time setting the parameters. After a few tweaks, I'm very pleased with this guitar.

Great Guitar

I've had mine for about 3 days now and I'm very impressed. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because nothing can be perfect right?I also felt that the action was to high like other reviewers but after adding a shim to the neck the action is now perfect. The sound through an amp is great and diverse using the EQ settings. Tracking was great plugging into my GR-20 Synth right out of the box with no adjustments and for the patches where there was some lag a quick adjustment on the synth end fixed it.Overall, this is a great instrument at a great price ($800.00 on sale) that works great as both a nylon string and a synth controller. I'll be keeping this one!

Great Deal!

I'm comparing this to a similar classical Carvin CL450 i've had for years. THe Godin looks great, & plays well. Just like the other reviewer said, strings came high off neck. Made an adjustment with the truss rod allen wrench and now its fine. Triggering for the synth sounds is much better then the ROland GK2-A . Better, but not perfect. Is there even one out there that is? Good workmanship. Very pleased. Came with no owner's manual to explain care and maintenance or how to use the EQ volume/synth controls. Also, the worse part were the tuners! Very cheap. They creak when I use them. THe Carvin's tuners are great - smooth and silent. Also , be prepared to wear a big shoulder strap - this is a heavy guitar!
