Classical nylon guitar concepts with an electric kick.

The Godin ACS-SA is a nylon-string guitar that blends classical guitar concepts with elements of solid body design. The comfortable neck from the Godin Multiac Nylon Guitar is used here with a maple body and cedar top to achieve an affordable synth access guitar. Although the body is chambered, response from the cedar top is more typical of a solid body designs than that of a traditional acoustic guitar. This design results in a guitar that is virtually free of feedback, making the Godin ACS-SA easy to use even when the band gets loud.

The engine in the ACS-SA guitar includes individual transducer saddles powered by a customized preamp system from the RMC Pickup Company. This system not only produces superb amplified sound, but also produces hexaphonic output through a 13-pin connector enabling direct access to Roland GR-Series guitar synthesizers.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

    A Total Joy to Play

    By Liam Walter

    from Grass Lake, MI

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is beyond a doubt one of, if not the finest crafted instruments I have ever played, let alone owned. The action is suberb, and the neck feels like heaven. This guitar plays easier than the Remirez a friend of mine owns. The finish looks wonderful, and it sounds great. Where was this guitar when I was in Music School?

    A great guitar

    By Strother

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I played classical guitar for decades then switched pretty much full time to steel string acoustic. But I still like to play around on nylon and find this guitar to be ideal for that. I play it far more than my Ramirez IA classic, mainly because I can plug in. The neck has a solid, substantial feel and produces really nice consistent sound when I run it through my acoustic amp. It needs amplification, but if you have young kids you can play this unamped without waking anybody, which I actually like quite a bit for early morning and late night playing and so on. I am still amazed with the concept of an electric classical guitar and Godin has done a fine job with this one. Looks cool, sounds great plays well. Really good value for the money. Highly recommend.

    3rd Time's the charm!

    By Stringmusician

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just received my THIRD Godin Nylon ACS SA from M-Freind today. The first one I sent back had a really ugly top and nicks in the headstock. the second one had and nick in the top and SERIOUS high frets that even after loosening the truss rod all the way could not get rid of the buzzes. The one I got today played great right out of the box (to my surprise). I was beginnning to wonder if M-Friend was sending out "B-stock" items OR if Godin's quality control is just REALLY BAD. Anyway, I'm happy with this one!

    What a beauty!

    By bainelaker

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great guitar, better value. Excellent feeling neck, very slim yet substantial. Playable for days. Be aware, this is not really an "acoustic" guitar, unplugged volume is less than your typical hollow-bodied electric. That said, the plugged in sound is beautiful, when run through the right gear - normally I'm using it for recording, running through Onyx or Avalon preamp into a 88.1/24 rig. Sounds great. Synth tracking is excellent, when paired with an Axon AX-100 - must set the unit up correctly, however. The only real complaint I have with the ACS is that the strap buttons could be more substantial.. the guitar is very light, but I still don't feel utterly confident with them. Also, the action was a bit high upon receipt of the guitar, after shipping from the midwest to Northern California - no real biggie, 30 seconds with the truss rod fixed it. All in all, an utterly versatile and inspirational guitar.
