Impeccable mahogany tone.
The mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard is generous in girth, yet has the comfort of a smaller neck thanks to Godin's ergocut shaping technique. The added brightness of the 25-1/2" scale and the warmth of the mahogany produce a best-of-both-worlds situation. A new 5-way switching system and a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers make for awesome tone. The AA-grade carved flame maple top adds gorgeous visuals to the mix.

Was going in to buy a Gibson LP custom and brought another player with me to sample some sounds since I can hear an instrument better when not playing. The Gibson was great and while I was speculating about the guitar the other player picked up a Godin LG signature and was fooling around with the same amp setup (Marshal head and Crate 4x12 cabinet) as he had played with the Gibson. After about 2-3 minutes I turned around and decided to try the Godin. After 5 minutes of playing I was going home with the Godin (and ended up buying the entire setup including head and cabinet.) One of the best sounding guitars I had heard after many guitars tried including Gibson, Fender and PRS. It was not until I got it home that I discovered that it is also a stunning instrument. Still finding new tones and discovered a new love of guitars. Felt similar to meeting my wife for the first time.
I'm from Uruguay (South America), so, sorry about my english. I have this guitar for about 2 years. I've never experienced this variety of tones in any other guitar that I played. I've been trough Gibsons, Fenders, Ibanez and nothing come close. The playability and tone in this guitar are amazing. I also own a Godin LG P90, so my arsenal of tones is now completed. The best thing about these guitars is the construction and quality of the electronics. SD pickups are the perfect to fit this guitar. I play my guitar thru a Fender Twin Reverb and various stomp boxes (boss sd-1, rat 2, small stone, boss tr-2 and boss dd-3). Nice rig. Every pedal sounds great and faithfully reproduces its sounds with this guitar. I'm very happy with all the stuff that I have. The only problem here in my country is the price of these things. Due to the import taxes we have to pay a lot more to purchase one of these babies. So imagine what a Gibson (standard ones) costs! But for the quality and sound of this guitar I really didn't mind about that. So, I belive that my son will play with this guitar when he grow up. Try this guitar and you'll be amazed! Thanks Godin for such amazing products.
I just bought this guitar in trans black flamed maple AA top. I can't be more pleased with this guitar. I played a PRS McCarty and the Godin LG Signature side by side. The tones I was getting with the Godin were so close to the PRS for almost 1/3 the price. The versatility of this guitar is amazing. The humbuckers gives you Les Paul tones and the single coil taps give you Strat tones. The strings through mahogany body and neck gives it great sustain. The neck is comfortable with satin finish which was a must for me. Its great that this guitar is made in Canada and USA. This is an under rated guitar and excellent purchase.I own an Norman acoustic made by Godin, which is also awesome.
This guitar is simply amazing. It is very comfortable to play, and sounds great with both clean sounds and with heavy distortion (I played it through a VOX 30-watt Valvetronix). The innovative 5-way switching system also gives a wide variety of tones, making the guitar very versatile. You can get standard strat sounds, as well as LP sounds. Not to mention the AA flamed maple top is gorgeous. Must get.
I own an LG Signature in Tranparent Blue with the AA flamed maple top. I got it used. I couldn't understand why it was being sold. It has Duncan Custom Customs at the Bridge and Duncan Jazz at the neck. It holds tune very well. The body resonates superbly. The strings are very easy to change. And it has a very wide range of tone. Currently I've tuned it to Drop D-flat with D'Addario heavy bottoms. There was no truss rod or intonation adjustment required. It took this change like a champ. I've used it to play everything from classic rock, ACDC, to grunge. It gives the tones. It sounds great clean as well. Two thumbs up here. I play predominantly this LG Signature and my Les Paul.
I've got a black flame guitar. This guitar is acoustically excellent. It just rings and sings acoustically. Plugged in, it is really sweet. With the tone rolled off, I don't find the tone that useful, but from half to treble, it is excellent and not too bright. The tapped single coil settings are very useful, and can pull off some chickn pickn or texas neck tones. Overall, this is the most addictive guitar I've ever played. The guitar is light and the neck is very comfortable. Great guitar for the money, and for much more money. It is not flashy like a Les Paul with inlays, but the quality is impeccable, and sound is sweet. I wish I'd have gotten the one with synth pickup is why I give 8 on features.
I have played guitars for 40 years, gone through my first silvertone to present day equipment, I've played them all, this Godin LG Signature is well worth it, in sound, integrity, and looks, well balanced, the humbuckers kick, and can mellow out the smoothest tones, I own one, and I like it alot, before you buy, try it, you'll see what I mean, excellence at your finger tips!
Awesome guitar. For the price I don't think you can find a nicer guitar. The five way switch is a nice addition to the 2 humbuckers. This guitar can create a lot of different sounds. The pickups are amazing and the notes come through extremely clear, even when distorted. I bought this guitar without ever playing a Godin and I do no in any way regret it.
I've owned this guitar for a year and a half so far, and I have no qualms with it whatsovever. It looks great, plays even better, and the shape and feel of the neck are amazing. I've played numerous Gibsons, and find the Godin neck far more comfortable. If you are looking for a quality product without paying Gibson prices, pick up a Godin.
This is the best blend of Strat and Les Paul virtues that I have found. This has a great set of Seymour Duncan pickups too. The long 25.5" scale and splitable pickups with 5-way switch offer a great range of tones. The Duncan "Custom Custom" and Jazz pickup combo sounds great. Covers modern rock, blues and clean tones. Even gets a bit of Strat quack tones! This is a great all around rocking guitar.
