The Godin Redline 1 Electric Guitar features the wonderfully simple yet effective combination of 1 pickup and 1 volume knob. The guitar's searing and ferocious tone is delivered via its sustain inducing, string-through, silver leaf maple body with poplar wings and an active EMG-81 humbucker in the bridge position. Any pent-up aggression can be unleashed on the faster Redline 1 rock maple neck with ergocut rosewood fingerboard and 24 super jumbo frets. It has a sleek Redline 3 & 3 headstock, thick black binding, and the stunning high gloss flame tops on color models.

i like the humbuckers and how well it stays in tune.
ok, this is my first real guitar, and i love it!! i was gonna get a fender jaguar, but the neck was screwed up, sooo i got this one instead. i got it for 300 used from guitar center, and once i saw it i just fell in love and said that is the one!! i got one tht is a little darker orange than the other one, but i absolutely love the maple finish.......
great quality, neck is fast, truly magnificent finish

To date, this is my best purchase through Musician's Friend, and I have made many. Buy this guitar and you will find yourself leaving a similar review as soon as you can pry yourself away from the thing.
There is a knob on the guitar. Only one. Perfect. If you want to shred, this is your ticket to the superbowl. It also does hard and classic rock very very very well. There is only one pickup, but man oh man does it get the job done in spades. The EMG-81 active pickup (comes with a battery installed, no worries) SCREAMS....It eats the hearts out of melons and leaves lonley girls in its wake.
You could swim in the Maple. Your fingers easily dance across the fingerboard. The guitar is light weight and well balanced. It looks awesome. It feels awesome. It sounds awesome.
This is the Editor pick for a reason, you get so much for so little. This is the best guitar ou can get new for under $1,000. Tone it down for clean, crank it up for dirt, it gets as heavy as your amp will go. The fingerboard is flat and with the single pickup, you can open tune it and play some killer slide too. Very versatile for the money. Did I mention the quality!!! It blows me away....feels more like a $1,500 guitar. Those Canadians know whats up.

The last affordable North American guitar is.....friggin great! This is my third Godin(two I'm using live weekly)and experience says they make the best guitars under a grand. I gave a 4.5 for quality only cause of the EMG. It was good and agressive but a bit flat and lifeless. I thru a Dimarzio D Activator in and this thing is a beast that will take on any guitar. Stock tuners are working perfect. Hats off to our friends up North! Next is a Summit......asap!

Upside:The wood is GOOD!!! very well built, very precise fit and finish, fast neck (even with rosewood) and BEAUTIFUL simplicity. Not-so Upside:The strings are garbage!!! But that's an easy fix. Downside:That soul-less, lifeless, TONELESS waste of a 9V battery known as EMG. This will soon be sent off to some nu-metal teenage twit and replaced with something more fitting of such a nicely built axe. C'mon Godin, give this thing a DiMarzio or even a Carvin M22SD. Suggestion: A guitar this cool NEEDS a trem. None of that Floyd Rose garbage, either. Slap a Kahler on this thing as I will soon do. Overall:A good piece which lends itself to mods. Would have reated it much higher if it had a better p'up and a kahler.

i've had this guitar for over a year with no complaints, i tune mine to drop C with either ernie ball beefy slinkys or not even slinkys, i like the not even slinkys better, i'm in a deathcore style band and i need my strings tight to sound tight, not complaints, i've played many other guitars in this price range and i always come back to it, only thing that would be any better is the redline 2 ONLY cause of the neck pickup, but i'm not our lead player anyway

I own the Red line 1 and it rocks...The actions is incredible with the jumbo frets and the single EMG-81 pick up. This is straight out balls to the wall sound with a single volume knob...Mine is a slightly older model and it's in a grey Matt finish string through body.I highly recommend this guitar if your into playing lead solos.The neck is a little chunky but not as thick as my Les Paul...Not as thin as my Kramer striker.It's a must have for a collection, you won't be disappointed.
