OVERVIEW

High gain-friendly performance, easy playability and spectacular style.

The exhilarating G2655 Streamliner Center Block Junior Double Cutaway is designed for three simple things: high gain-friendly performance, slick, easy playability and spectacular style. A sleek music machine, the G2655 cranks out the hits with updated features while staying true to That Great Gretsch Sound! that's been a vital component of rock n' roll since its inception.

The secret to the Streamliners sound is two-fold: the BroadTron humbucking pickup and the spruce center block. Specifically designed by the expert engineers at Gretsch for the Streamliner, the high-output BroadTron humbucking pickup spawns robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange for a unique tone that blends well with other instruments in a band context. A lightweight spruce center block runs the length of the body, reinforcing the top while eliminating undesirable feedback for volume-friendly performance on modern stages.

The Streamliners sonic power is harnessed and shaped by the traditional control layout, neck and bridge pickup volume controls, a master tone control, master volume control and three-way pickup switching. A fast-playing 12-radius rosewood fingerboard with elegant pearloid block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets sits atop the white-bound nato neck with a thin U-shaped profile, ideal for chord work or fiery riffing. Enjoy rock-solid tuning stability courtesy of the stylish Gretsch V stoptail tailpiece, Adjusto-matic bridge with an anchored base and synthetic bone nut.

All the classic eye-catching style you've come to expect from Gretsch is here: vintage-style black control knobs, F holes, elegant two-ply white and black body binding, slick-looking nickel hardware, single-ply black pickguard with Gretsch logo and arched laminated maple construction. Easy to play while rocking out thanks to its smaller body, the G2655 Streamliner Center Block Junior Double Cutaway is a phenomenal instrument for the modern musician who wants to control the stage and the audience while standing out from the pack.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2655 Streamliner Center-Block Junior Double Cutaway:

I can't say anything bad about this guitar. The setup was great out of the box. Intonation was spot on. Looks...well that is a 10. Playability is very nice and even in the upper register there is a bit more room than my Les Paul which helps. The neck seems a bit wider at first and yet it is extremely comfortable to play. The body is smaller than most hollow body models which makes it very enjoyable and comfortable to play. I was worried that this might be a thin sounding jangly guitar but it isn't. It does sound very clean if needed but when you crank it there is more than enough beef coming from these pickups for anything you want to play. The guitar is dead silent for recording. All I've done to this guitar is replace the stock tuners with Grover 106C locking tuners which were a direct fit and change to my brand of strings but other than that I haven't been as happy with a purchase in a long time. Pleasantly surprised to say the least.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2655 Streamliner Center-Block Junior Double Cutaway:

I had to do a complete set-up on it to get it the way I like my guitars. I started with the neck, tightened all of the screws on the ends of the tuning heads to give them resistance, set the action, had to reverse the high e, b and g string saddles to get the intonation right and then spent a lot of time on the pickups messing with the height and pole screws. Was it worth it, heck yes, the guitar sounds fantastic now. The build quality and components of the guitar are superb. The defiincy is in the set-up, mine was non-existent. It was assembled but every aspect of it was off
I just got a Supro Comet delivered yesterday and the guitar sounds just a good harmonically as any high end guitar now. Buy this guitar but have it set-up by a real guitar tech not someone in a chain store. In the end this guitar can sound as good if not better than guitars that cost twice as much. I easily spent 8 hours of messing with it to get it sorted out. Neck is smooth as silk, it plays and sounds great.
