I bought this guitar, and I play it whenever I get the time, the neck is very comfortable, it has avery comfortable neck, you dont get your fingers all hurting after playing it for long periods of time.It sounds very nice, I was not hoping for Martin Gibson or Taylor's tone, but it is very decent. It is by far the best for beginners, and for whoever owns an Ultra expensive guitar that he wont take to the beach or camping - being afraid to dent or ruin it somehow. But the Americana is Perfect for these occasions. And of course - it is very cool looking!!!
Soundz like the one I made in high school 40 years ago. It's sitting in my office and gets played whenever I want to lay some boxy sounding tunes down. Buy it as soon as it goes on sale. You won't regret it.
This thing sounds great. I can't believe the price. Nice open tone. Perfect intonation. Records better than my full size acoustic. I love it. I can't wait to record more. Awesome deal pick one up.
I just got this guitar as a stupid deal of the day for fifty bucks. This guitar by far exceeds the amount of money spent, even if I had paid full retail, it would still be worth it! It plays great, the 3/4 scale makes it easy to move around, I'm not fighting the neck or the action at all. I'd say its more of a collector rather than a campfire guitar, but definitely a great conversation piece! The graphics also have great kitsch factor! Buy this guitar, or maybe all four!
Awesome for the money, I mighta paid more. stays in tune well. My neck was straight and frets were nice. No dead spots. Guitar is really loud which is a plus. Other guitarists say it looks like a toy at the 3/4 scale. I could see how tone connoiseurs wouldn't like it, but for a beater it is great. Jam sessions, making youtube videos, and having an awesome guitar to tell about cowboy stuff are all plusses - thanks for the great deal!
I really didn't need another guitar, but this was on sale. Actually, I've been searching for a suitable travel sized guitar for a long time. This is a small guitar. It won't put your shoulder out of joint when you're playing it. It's also small enough to exist co-exist in your room without a lot of stumbling over it.It doesn't have as much volume as a larger guitar, but I think the sound is even & pleasant throughout its range. It sounds a lot better than other small guitars that I've played. The intonation & playability is just fine. The finish looks well done. The neck is smoothly joined to the body. There are only two minor irregularities in the finish, which would probably be masked by binding, if this guitar had it. It seems well built to me. It has a nice "real wood" smell that seems to have a slight odor of Elmer's mixed in.The bottom line is that this guitar is just fine for adults that need a smaller guitar. (for practice, etc.) It would also be a much better value than most kids get for a first guitar.
I just opened my box, and this little guy is a gem. Any guitar with cows getting tractor beamed into a spaceship is cool enough, but wait till you put your mitts on this beauty. Action and intonation is perfect out of the box with a real woodsy tone. This is not a toy - its really a Gretch. I got mine on the stupid deal of the day and I was stupid not to buy 5 more and give one or two out to my best friends and put away the rest for prosterity. You simply can't go wrong with this guitar.
I'm having a hard time believing I only spent a hundred bucks for this guitar. It has become one of my favorite guitars overnight, it has that great parlor sound without the pricetag or the crummy intonation. I like it so much, I'm going to start recording with it. This guitar plays like butter, sounds great, and is cheap enough to buy a backup. Love it.
This guitar is much better than the old Harmony and Stella guitars that I played when I was a kid in the 1950s. Gretsch really put some quality in this old comic book pine box guitar!
I like this little guitar. It has a "wooden" sound. It's a small guitar, so I like to carry it around camping or the beach. it's a good outdoors guitar. I am really surprised at how good it sounds. I bought it just for a collection. Cool guitar
