Pretty good value

By lpablo

from Oxford, MS

I have always played electric, and never had much desire to play an acoustic until recently. I didn't want to lose a left nut for an acoustic, and this was fairly inexpensive compared to some of the other guitars. I'm really not sure for what to look for, but I'm no idiot and it sounds great! It even resonates nice. My only complaint is that the electronics are less than stellar. This may have been because I played it through a tube halfstack. I'm not playing any gigs with it, so whatever. The picture does it no justice, cause when I dragged it out of the box my jaw dropped. I just need to find a good case for it now.

Fetchin' Gretsch!

By Melissa

from Hamilton, NY

I've had this guitar for nearly two years, and really enjoy the tone I get from it; even unplugged a really good sounding guitar. Had a problem with the input jack and had it repaired. The repair person was shocked at how good this guitar sounded. I use it most of the time, now, with or without the Yorkville acoustic amp. It's a win/win situation!

Great guitar for the price!

This guitar is built in S. Korea, not China like some of the other cheaper Gretsch guitars. I have my jumbo for about 2 years and it just sounds better and better the more I play it! It has nice feel to it, nicely balanced and a very comfortable slim neck. The rear strap button doubles as the entry point for the electric cable connection -- this was a problem at first because it got loose on mine. I had a luthier tighten that up, and he also replaced the cheap plastic bridge with a bone one. This guitar definitely stands out in the crowd with that nice "maple" finish (I've seen the tobacco burst and it is nice too), texas roundup pickguard, and distinct triangular sound hole design. Nothing else like it on the market, that's for sure ... I get lots of admiring comments!

Unique looking acoustic

Great sounding guitar. Built very solidly with a distinctive look (mine has the maple finish) and sound. Nicely balanced, slim neck plays very easily. Fishman prefix works great. I would recommend replacing the plastic bridge with bone and swapping out the tuners for higher quality.

Jumbo Rancher

I bought this guitar used after reading reviews ect. This is a big guitar. Probably not well suited for petite woman or children. Im a big guy and i find it a bit big compared to the mini jumbo i have. This is a beautiful, well made guitar that is definatley unique in appearance. The mahogony on the body and neck has nice heavy grain and looks quality. The solid top i think has a little bit too much clearcoat that would keep the guitar from being louder. The fit and finish is great. A little thick on top. The tuners dont slip but the gold looks a little thin. The binding and inlays are nice. Not as loud or bright as the maple guitars, More of a warm sound. Fishman preamp is nice. Sounds good plugged in. Phos bronze strings best. No regrets.
