OVERVIEW

A comfortable thin body and a trio of mini dual-coil pups set the stage for endless riffage.

The Electromatic® CVT III electric guitar sports three sonically stellar Gretsch Mini Dual-Coil pickups that are voiced to be hi-fi rich and hi-gain friendly. The three position pickup selector switch is configured to keep things simple (Position 1: Bridge PU, Position 2: Middle PU, Position 3: Neck PU), so you can keep your mind mentally orbiting while making split second decisions when performing. Extended jams are a breeze with this original Gretsch "CVT" thin profile mahogany body design (1.5625"/40mm) and bolt-on maple neck that joins at the 18th fret. "G" Arrow Knobs, Medium Jumbo Frets, Adjustomatic™ bridge and stop tailpiece are the ingredients you need to cook up atasty rock-and-roll stew with the CVT.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5105 Electromatic CVT III Electric Guitar:

I admit, even before I "fixed" it, I loved this guitar, but why would you have three pickups and only utilize one at a time. When I opened it up, it looked like a hobbyist had soldered the connections on the pots and toggle, but after about a ten greenback purchase of a 6 way rotary switch from stewmac and an hour or so of wiring schematic research, I was able to make this thing into my go-to guitar. I can now use each single pickup and a combination of each to give me the sound I'm looking for.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5105 Electromatic CVT III Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a lightweight and that's suits transport to guitarlessons. So this is my teachers axe.

Its way lighter then a Les Paul model or a telecaster.

It has a good sound for blues and rock. With overdrive the minihumbuckers are growling.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5105 Electromatic CVT III Electric Guitar:

There is nothing subtle about this guitar. But whenyou're rerady to bash away it's pretty amazing given the price. Set it in the bridge position and hammer away. It's built like a rock and meant to take abuse. How does it sound? Just fine... but y'know, sometimes tone is overrated...

Pretty Darn Good For The Money

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5105 Electromatic CVT III Electric Guitar:

Overall, this guitar is a blessing. My friend is blessed with a truly great instrument. If you are looking to buy your first, awesome GRETSCH but are tight in budget, this guitar is your answer.
Considering the next step up? Try this pretty sweet Gretsch. A very pretty looking guitar, this guitar features 22 frets, 3 mini humbucking pickups (which sounded better than expected), and vintage tuning keys. The humbuckers are quite versatile, despite their size. I can get some pretty good hardcore tones (surprisingly) and of course buttery, warm blues tones. Tonal possibilities are endless with this guitar, as it features three humbucking pickups that can carve out any tone you try to imagine.
Quality is a lot better than expected. When I asked my friend how much he got this Gretsch, I was instantly surprised. I thought this guitar costed HUNDREDS more than what he told me, but the lower price is evident, as the guitar features a cheap bolt on neck (found in cheaper guitars) and very little features. Otherwise, this guitar sounds AND feels great nonetheless. There are absolutely NO problems with it.
Fantastic. Period. The PERFECT guitar for someone who is looking to step up for a quality, yet affordable instrument. If you are one of those people stuck with a cheap guitar, this guitar is PERFECT for the step up. Virtually any genre of music can be played with this instrument, even hardcore and some metal, yet yielding tones for jazz and blues.
