Product# H86457

A single-cutaway hollowbody with Filter’Tron™ pickups and harp tailpiece.

When the Gretsch R&D team unearthed a Baldwin-era Filter’Tron pickup with knockout punch and phenomenal twang, they incorporated its DNA into dynamic “Black Top” Filter’Tron™ pickups, which now endow Electromatic hollow-body instruments such as the G5420T with an electrifying voice and identity.

The G5420LH Electromatic Left-Handed Hollowbody Guitar is a sharp Gretsch guitar with a bound single-cutaway hollowbody featuring sound-post bracing and elegant bound f holes. Other features include a maple neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and hump-block pearloid inlays, silver plexi pickguard, three-position pickup switch, classic “G” arrow control knobs, rosewood-based Adjusto-Matic™ bridge and harp tailpiece, vintage-style open-back tuners and chrome-plated hardware.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5420LH Electromatic Left-Handed Hollowbody Guitar:

Overall, I'm happy with this guitar, especially for the price. The fit and finish are very nice, and the binding is done well. Visually, it's a beautiful guitar. The neck is wonderful, and it plays nicely. The only downside to the guitar is the tone and volume pots. They are not linear; any changes come at the tail end of a knob's travel. Additionally, the knobs just don't have a nice, solid feel to them. In contrast, the pickup selector switch seems to function beautifully, and feels solid. I also am pleased with the tone of the pickups. At some point, I imagine that I'll replace the pots, but I figure I'll wait until they fail. So, aside from the controls, I really, really like the guitar. I thoroughly enjoy playing it, and I'd recommend it.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5420LH Electromatic Left-Handed Hollowbody Guitar:

The pickups are outstanding! The price is great
for this model and it's workmanship. The quality says it should come with a case and be priced that way.
