Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

This guitar was beautiful right out of the box. Looking this guitar over this thing is absolutely flawless. Great finish, absolutely gorgeous. Pluged it in and what a beautiful sustaining sound. This thing sings. The frets are smooth and the intonation is nearly perfect. Only the 5th and 6th strings a liitle flat at the 12th fret. A small turn of the adjustment brought it into perfect tune. The action is very good, I set mine a little lower. There is no buzzing in any position. The first thing I done was to change the strings, which made a big difference in the feel and sound. The stings it came with are stiff and hard to bend. I play lead in a praise band and have played for over 25 years. Aside from the gleaming that radiated from this due to the lights a lot of the group noticed the sound as being a notch above my other Guitars. I have an SG, LesPaul a Tele, and with this Gretsch, I can have what ever sound I want. Dial up a lttle delay, add some light distortion, some phaser, and this thing really sings. For the money this guitar is worth twice that in everyway. If you want a quality insturment for a great price I would say buy it you won't be disappointed

      Highly Impressed...and not easily so!

      By Benjamin Eaves

      from Anderson, South Carolina

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

This is an absolutely fantastic guitar. The neck feels and plays great. The looks are gorgeous. The feel of the guitar is nice. It's substantial without being a back breaker. The new filtertrons really sing. I currently play through a Fender blues jr NOS with Bill M Mods and these pups shine. They drive the amp really well and get downright raunchy. The bridge pickup sparkles and the neck pup gets glassy. They have a wonderful clean tone and get a great filthy tone without the mud...really remind me of a p-90. The bigsby works and looks great and the tuners do their job. My advice...always stretch your strings and you won't have tuning issues. I would replace it with another in a heartbeat. I'm using it now leading worship and love it. I would have no reservations recommending this guitar to anyone.
The features are great, just what you need to shape your tone: 2 filtertron pickups, master tone, master volume, individual pickup volumes, selector switch, strap locks, and a bigsby. Everything works perfect out of the box.
The quality is exceptional; especially for the price. These are the best pickups I have encountered in these import models. Epiphone can't hold a candle. The new filtertrons in these are exceptional. I have found no issues. The finish on the black is very nice. The frets are great; no sharp ends. The binding looks to be done very well.
This is just an excellent guitar; worthy of gigging. The value is exceptional. I have owned & played a number of guitars ranging from epi's & squiers to Gibson & Gibson Custom, Fender, PRS. These new pro jets are the real deal.

      Better than I ever expected!

      By David Nix

      from Minnesota

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

Don't hesitate if this is your style...I've had about 5 Gretsch guitars over the years including the 6120 I still own and this things is top notch.
For me, it's got just what I need. Having the master volume along with individual pickup volumes and master tone make this guitar very versatile. Bigsby is smooth and quiet. Tuners aren't the best but for the price, I won't complain. Upgraded pickups and new pickup housing is major improvement over previous models.
Finish is absolutely perfect, binding is perfect. Rosewood on neck is beautifully finished. Frets are filed properly with no sharp edges. Best of all, of any guitar I've ever bought, this thing was set up perfectly out of the box. I always hold my breath when opening the box after it is delivered not knowing whether I got a lemon or a keeper. This one is definately a keeper! String height was right on, relief was right on, nut was correct height and slots filed perfectly. I had to slightly adjust the pickup height to my preference to get the tone balanced. I haven't yet checked intonation but seems to play in tune above the 12th fret. Amazing quality for this price point.
I can't ask for more, especially with the newly updated pickups which were always a complaint with the previous models and it looks finished with the new pickup surrounds so you aren't looking into the routed hole like prior version which was not very appealing. Tone wise, these pickups are super nice, medium hot and this guitar definitely has that "Great Gretsch Sound". The hump fret markers are sweet as well compared to the finger nail style on the prior version. I love it...

      Gretsch GG5445T Review

      By carl pecoraro

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

      9
Currently, I own 13 guitars, and my interest in Gretsch began with a G6120 Chet Atkins hollow body .This is a fantastic guitar, and sounds better than all the rest. When Gretsch revamped the Pro Jet, and made it available in a double cut away design, and improved the pickups to their Filtertron version, the G6545T became a must have at the ridiculously low price.

When the guitar arrived, I could find no flaws in the fit and finish . The high gloss black was perfect, as was everything else. Since it is chambered, it was not uncomfortably heavy , and felt just right. The set up needed just a slight adjustment to the bridge height, but the height of the strings at the nut was ideal. Now for the comparison to the high dollar. Sonically, I almost couldn't tell them apart. The clarity, the ringing tone, and the twang was about the same as the 6120. This guitar definitely has the visual appeal and the tone that Gretsch is famous for. If there is anything different at all in the sound, perhaps the G6545 pickups are not wound quite as hot, but to me they sound almost identical.

Of course, this guitar is made in China, and not in Japan like the high dollar Gretsch guitars, but you would never know it looking at it, listening to it, or playing it. George Harrison would have been lucky to find this Gem in 1965. I plan on using this guitar when I don't want to risk damage or loss to the Chet Atkins G6120 when playing out. This guitar would have been a good buy at twice the price. Grab one!
