Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6119-1962FT Chet Atkins Tennessee Rose Electric Guitar:

The Gretsch G6119-1962FT is something special to me. I originally bought this model then known as the Tennessean in 1966 as a very young player, no clue it was "Harrison's" guitar. I just really liked it, felt right the first time I picked it up in Dick Lurie's guitar studio here in Cleveland, Ohio. I sold it in the early 70's to pay for rent, books, and tuition. That was hard. Always regretted doing that. Now, almost 50 years later I've got one, closing a broken circle. Don't know why I waited so long. It's like saying hello to a long lost friend. And I'm really enjoying it now because I've learned a thing or two about guitar playing in the last half century. Believe what you read about the tone, playability, versatility, over all great feel of this guitar. It's the real deal. Fit and finish are superb. The Filtertrons and tone switch cover the waterfront from jangle to jazz. Awesome guitar 50 years ago, still an awesome guitar today. It's not a "re-issue" it's THAT guitar.
