Full Tilt Boogie

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6120DSW Chet Atkins Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

You got to play this guitar with the attitude it deserves. The sound that can come from this instrument will command attention or should I say demand attention. You get on stage with this looker and you best play it the way the crowd expects it to be played. Then again just a simple minor chord gently rode out with the Bigsby might be all you have to do. Amazing!!

Best guitar I own!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6120DSW Chet Atkins Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

A real dream guitar for the serious musician. Once you get used to pickup select and color switching nothing can come close to the variety of tone this guitar produces. The Bigsby is a precision tool for classic rock sounds.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6120DSW Chet Atkins Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I originally bought one of these about 11 years ago, when they first reissued them. I sold it because I was young and stupid. This one, a 2014 model, looks and sounds almost identical, but I think it is a little better than the older one.

First off, they seem to have fixed the huge volume imbalance between the bridge and neck pickups. The bridge is still not overly powerful, but it sounds louder and isn't as thin as the older one was.

How does this guitar sound? Listen to Duane Eddy, early Chet, early George Harrison with the Beatles. Yeah, they all had Dynasonics. Great twangy bottom-end, with a nice, shimmery top-end. Excellent for rockabilly (of course), but also excels at country and some classic rock. Some people say these are their favorite Gretsch pickups, and I can see why.

Hardware, electronics, and overall build quality are second to none. Highly recommended!
