Its a western style Penguin

By James in Texas

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6121-1955 Chet Atkins Solid Body Electric Guitar:

Please see the above review
The G6121-1955 is a great guitar both physically and musically. Don't be fooled by the western motif of this guitar. You get a variety of tones out of the guitar from clean, dirty and downright nasty. Basically, it is a western style Penguin complete with leather binding, studs and a branded G. The cowboy case is a real plus for that retro look. The neck is a medium, sort of chunky neck with cactus and cow inlays. Check-out YouTube for videos on this guitar. I think you will be surprised by what you hear.
There is nothing wrong with the quality of this guitar. First rate.
Very flexible guitar

Fantastic Guitar

By Panda

from Vegas

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6121-1955 Chet Atkins Solid Body Electric Guitar:

The other reviewer has not a clue what he is talking about. I could care less who stopped playing the guitar at what point in their career. The strings are incredibly easy to change as long as you are mentally stable. Yes, it has a floating bridge.... that doesn't mean it's hard to play. The guitar sounds fantastic, feels great with a slinder neck, and looks amazing. And whoever says Dynasonics don't handle dirt well has no idea what their talking about. It doesn't do metal (thank god) ut if you want some raunchy original sounding dirt, it's a great guitar.

Chet Atkins does not play this

By Stratman-MDvwT

from West Palm Beach, Fl.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6121-1955 Chet Atkins Solid Body Electric Guitar:

This nice looking country like guitar is a pretender the action is hard to set the strings are hard to change and Chet stopped playing this guitar long before his death. But it looks good and Gretsch makes good looking guitars.
