Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6122II Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Electric Guitar:

My wife surprised me with the for my birthday. I have quite a few nice guitars and this one is right at the top. Great player, perfectly set up right out of the box. Good for twang, blues and rock. Plug it into your Fender for twang and the Marshall for rock. Works for me. Great sustain being hollow and fun to use the Bigsby for a great controlled feedback sound.

Looks like Chet and George new what the heck they were doing!!

Gretsch Guitars G6122II

By PaullyTone

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6122II Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Electric Guitar:

This guitar is very well made and very playable, that's why I rated a 5 for value. Right out of the box this guitar sings with a great variation of tones -- only after tuning the strings to pitch. The factory intonation is super. I've owned a 1970's Gretsch C.G. and it simply did not sound, look, or play as well as this guitar. Of course, this guitar has a slight variation -- its neck is joined to the body at the 18th fret. This is really a plus to play the upper notes. Needless to say -- I am really satisfied with this guitar and highly recommend it.

Beautiful Guitar

By Ibanez4$

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6122II Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Electric Guitar:

Unless you are a serious country or blues musician or a guitar collector this guitar is not for you. If you play country or blues tho and have a lot of money to play with this is an excellent choice. It just sounds unbelievable pure and simple. And it has very nice sustain which i have yet to find in other hollow bodies. But if you plan on adding distortion or any sort of gain really than look elsewhere cuz a 99$ johnson has as good of high gain and distortion as this guitar does. But its still the most beautiful guitar i own.

An Enduring Instrument

By Bazookaman

from Mountain Home, Idaho

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6122II Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Electric Guitar:

I bought a 6122, Chet Atkins signature Country Gentleman, brand new back in 1975. In 32 years, it has never been in the shop for anything! I recently went to a lighter weight Gretsch for my lead guitar chores as I'll be 60 next year. I've been playing lead guitar since 1969, and my old 6122 is positively the best guitar I've ever owned or played, bar none. No mystery why Chet played one for so long. If today's Country Gentleman is anywhere near as good as the old one, it's worth every bit and more, of what they want for it today......Mike Bradbury, Mountain Home, Idaho
