Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6136T-LTV White Falcon Lacquer Finish TV Jones Pickups:
I've played many guitars in the four years I've picked up the instrument but none are as awe powering as this.
I owned a Gretsch G5120 before the falcon and I must say Gretsch guitars are the best in my book. I foolishly sold my Gretsch to purchase a Rickenbacker 350v63, for the reason I viewed Rickenbacker as my dream guitar (being a Lennon fan and admiring his 325). While the Rick was alright it was full of glitches, malfunctions and needed constant repair. Disappointed I was forced to give up the 350 taking a huge blow financially by selling it back to the store I bought it from. After the ordeal I realized that Gretsch was a better quality guitar with much less hassle.
I searched for another model of Gretsch and low and behold found the White falcon.
The guitar caught my eye at first glance. the entire body was a beatiful dulled white as if it were pulled out of the 1950s and the binding and hardware was insanely stunning. I assumed a guitar that gosh looking must be good.
It was extremely comfortable upon first playing it, the neck was smooth and thin as well has the large body seemed to fit comfortably against my midriff. I played it for about an hour without it even being plugged into an amp and was already in love, upon finding a fender amp and plugging her in that sold me. This guitar is one of the most versatile and amazing instruments ever. I was easily able to cover things from Chuck Berry,Neil Young, Metallica and even some great Beatles riffs. The pickups are absolute gold (not just sonicly but visually too) and it was able to dish out everything I gave it. You can bet I immediately put money on it and saved up for about a year (although my payment is still not finished). The only thing I will comment on is $3800 is a little more than over the top even for such a beauty. If you have the money or the discipline to save up do it! you won't regret it.
