OVERVIEW

Full sounding thanks to a solid spruce top and maple back and sides.

The F-2512E Maple combines two of Guild’s most iconic specialties: twelve string and jumbo guitars. With their large, rounded bodies, jumbo acoustic guitars have been Guild’s forte since 1954; combining this shape with the ever-popular 12-string construction results in a full-toned, impressively voiced acoustic instrument. Built with a solid spruce top, maple sides, and arched maple back, the F-2512E Maple has the bright, jangly tone characteristic of Guild’s twelve string guitars.

Guild’s signature arched back design allows for great volume and projection, long sustain, and a lush, full sound. The F-2512E Maple features Guild’s AP-1 pickup, an Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, pearloid rosette, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and a matte polyurethane finish. This model also includes Guild’s new lightweight deluxe gig bag.

Comments about Guild F-2512E Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've own several twelve strings and always wanted a Guild Jumbo 12-string, but the price of them were out of my reach until now. I ran across this Guild on Musician's Friend and after and hearing the video demo of it on the Guild website, I decided to buy it.

The guitar looks, plays, and sounds great. I like the matte finish on this guitar and the light yellow tint on the top and body and the pearl inlay on the rosette and head stock. The electronics sound pretty good; the guitar sounds great both plugged and unplugged. My other 12 string is a Taylor 150e and its a great guitar too, but this one seems easier to play than the Taylor and chords and picked arpeggios sound clearer on this Guild. The gig bag is pretty good too and it does have neck support.

It's worth the money; buy it!

Comments about Guild F-2512E Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The tone is fantastic, fills the room. Very easy to play. Neck is a little wide at first but then it feels great. Try drop D tuning and you can't put it down. Gig bag is very good, sturdy with storage. I Will get a hard shell case for the road. Tone, tone, tone! Pick-up is very good. I play through a Roland jc-120 or direct to PA or both. Great for Beatles, Byrds, Petty or any 12 string songs(Blues) and with slide!

Comments about Guild F-2512E Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar as a " take out of the house" back up to matured, high end 12 string. I find it's playability and quality (for the $$) to be outstanding so far and will definitely play it on a very regular basis. Given it's size you would expect a lot of projection and it does not disappoint. The sustain is also good. I have had to make very minor adjustments to tuning when I pick it up, but after all it is a 12 string so used to that. That kind of goes with the territory. I wished it had just a tad more bass but that could also be how I hold it...strumming directly over the sound hole mostly addresses this concern for me. Visually it is stunning. While I have leaned heavily in the past toward rosewood, my most recent guitar purchases have been maple, without regret. The electronics are pretty good...not fantastic...but pretty good. The controls, I will say, are not placed all that conveniently for quick adjustments but not a big issue for me...and a very minor sacrifice given the overall quality for the price. At time of purchase I tried 5 other " lower end" recognizable brand 12 strings- again I was just looking for a back up - and that's just what they sounded like....but not this one. You could certainly spend more on a guitar but I would totally recommend this to someone new to 12 strings. Experienced players will also enjoy this guitar and maybe wind up playing it more than you anticipated because it's so good and so much fun.

Comments about Guild F-2512E Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Purchased the Guild 2512E to replace a 30 year old 12 string. I have been playing guitar as a semi-pro musician with various acoustic groups for over 40 years, I will be using the guitar with a cover band doing an eclectic mix of golden oldies, folk music, blues, and classic country. Unpacking the guitar and careful inspection showed a flawless finish, a low action (which I like), and either a factory or distributor set up that was perfect. Guitar held tune with and without capo thru the 12th fret (I didn't any higher). After tuning it up (the guitar as shipped was approximately 3 half tones flat) i gave it a brief workout (obviously retuning five or six times as the strings stretched), then took it to a band rehearsal. After the anticipated comments of "Wow! Someone got a new ax" or "Do you know how to play a guitar that doesn't have dents?" I plugged into the PA system and started the rhythm for our first song. Jaws literally dropped when the singers heard the full sound and out sound tech loved it. I boosted the bass balance slightly on the tone control and that was the only adjustment needed to get that rich, full bodied acoustic, jangly, 12 string sound. I (and all the band members) are delighted with the instrument.

Comments about Guild F-2512E Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Having played a Guild G212 dreadnought 12-string on stage since 2005, I have looked out for a Guild jumbo 12-string since that time, but the price of most models was out of reach until the Guild F-2512e was made available. After I played and heard the demo video, I ordered one. I was blown away by the tone and playability. At jams, my guitarist friends asked to play it and they were impressed by how easily it played and the resonant tone (one friend said "the sound vibrates into your chest when you play it"). The built-in piezo pickup is a real bonus and the included heavy duty Guild gig bag is really nice. Like my other Guild, the guitar was set up and ready to play. At this price, this is an unbelievable bargain for such a great sounding guitar. Think about it... just the pickup and the gig bag alone are worth a few hundred.

I've wanted a 12 string for awhile and the Guild jumbos have always stuck out to me. I didn't think I'd ever be able to afford one, until now. I played many different 12 strings in the store and kept coming back to this one. The sound is amazing, whether it's plugged in or not.

I can't wait to play it at some gigs and hear people's reaction!

The Guild design and craftsmanship was what I was after...but didn't want to spend $1800 to $4000 for a guitar. When I discovered this model...I thought I would take a chance. I wasn't disappointed. Even tuning to pitch, the action is very comfortable. It sound great and stays in tune pretty well. I have only had the instrument for a few weeks...but I believe it will be a great sounding companion to my music for years to come.

Comments about Guild F-2512E Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

As the title says, this is a very nice playing and looking 12 string. The price is unbeatable for this quality. A slight truss rod adjustment sets it right whenever the weather changes the neck here in upstate NY. The sound from this is "heavenly"! Whatever is to be played, plugged or un-plugged, this guitar does not disappoint. The neck and fretboard are a wonder to behold as the guitar plays so easy. Also, what a looker! The good news about this guitar, besides all of the above, is that as time goes by, I have no doubt the sound will get more deep and richer. I may just buy another, because, at this price and quality it's worth it to have one as a backup!
