      Best Uses

Comments about Guild F-50 Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

I have lusted for this guitar for over 20 years and finally had the means to pull the trigger on one. I will say the fingerboard inlay work was spectacular. I play a Guild x700 Stuart with the same pattern and the F-50 did not disappoint. I was very disappointed with the woods used for the back and sides. Very little flame or pattern to the wood. I would expect this in a guitar costing 1/3 of what the F-50 sells for, and expect a guitar of this value to impress both sonically and visually. Fit and finish had some areas that could have been better. For example the binding on the sides of the fingerboard did not line up with the binding on the end of the fingerboard at the highest fret. No issues with the tone of this guitar. Excellent volume. Good balance. Good resonance. By comparison, I had a Martin HD28 in the house at the same time that was as loud, with better balance and better resonance (I decided to go that route). Bottom line - Does what it should as far as sound, but falls short on cosmetics.

        Finest Jumbo I've Ever Played

Comments about Guild F-50 Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

Best acoustic guitar I've ever owned. I sold my Koa Taylor 414CE and my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe after finding my Guild F50. The warm, booming tone that emanates from this guitar puts all the others to shame. It has an incredibly balanced tone, and is an absolute canon. This is NOT a subdued, quiet acoustic guitar!
If you are looking for a guitar that is equally beautiful to listen to and look at, the F50 is definitely for you. The quilted maple back and sides are stunning, and the spruce top has a nice figured grain as well. Inlays on the fretboard are very ornate, and the ebony fretboard makes this guitar look so classy.
The F50 I have was made in Tacoma, WA. The newer models are made in New Hartford, CT, and are supposedly the best guitars Guild has built since the Hoboken factory was still in existence. Fit and finish is superb. Fretwork is fantastic as well. I can find absolutely no faults with this fine guitar.
There are cheaper guitars out there, but none that will give you the sound, playability, and longevity of a US-made Guild.
