A meticulous recreation of the classic Guild twelve!
Painstakingly true to its vintage roots, this version of the F-512 has the same body dimensions as the original (17" wide, 21" long, 4.8" deep). It features a solid AAA Sitka spruce top, high-quality ebony fingerboard with abalone and mother-of-pearl block inlays, "G"-shield headstock inlay and gold Grover Rotomatic tuning machines.
Designed in the late 1960s as Guild's first jumbo 12-strings, the F-512 and its sibling, the F-412, are two of Guild's most enduring and popular guitars. The F-512 has solid rosewood back and sides.
The quality and widespread use of Guild's jumbo 12-strings have earned Guild a permanent place in guitar history. As historians Tom and Mary Anne Evans once wrote, "The basic virtue of Guild 12-strings is that they are very loud and [have] a clarity and definition of sound not normally associated with 12-string guitars."
One of the keys to achieving that clarity and definition is solid construction. While the body size and scale length are the same as Guild's 6-string jumbos, Guild's 12-strings are 1-13/16" wide at the nut, and feature a double truss rod system and Guild's time-tested jumbo bracing pattern.

I had wanted a 12-string for years. I borrowed my friends Martins now and then, but it wasn't enough. The stars eventually fell into alignement and my wife gave me an F-512. It has a meatier sound than my buddies'(D-size) Martins which reflects it's bigger size and greater weight. I couldn't be happier with the appearance, feel and sound of this guitar. I sometimes play this acoustic gem into a mic with the band, but most often it goes to smaller occasions like jams, parties or church. The action is easy, tuning is very stable, and while the axe is hefty it is not oppressive on the shoulder. It has a strong, beautiful voice and stands up well to my somewhat heavy flatpicking.
