Comments about Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Sound- This guitar is very well balanced and though the overtones are slightly more subdued than on a spruce top, they are by no means missing altogether. The bass is bold and the top end is clear. This guitar is quite loud which I wasn't expecting from and all mahogany guitar.

Look- The color is beautiful and I like the striped grain. The poly is not too thick and is well applied and smooth. The headstock is plainer than some other Guilds. I actually would have preferred slightly more decoration there. Soundhole design is understated but well done.

Feel- The action is fairly low from the factory and likely won't require a lot of set up. The satin finish on the neck provides for very smooth movement up and down. The slimmer nut and shape of the neck provides a similar feel to a 100/200 series Taylor.

Comments about Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I purchased the D-125 as an upgrade from an old Ibanez acoustic I had been using periodically for the past 7 years or so. Right out of the box the action and feel of the neck were amazing! I personally like the "beefy" low end that is mentioned in prior reviews. You can't beat the quality in the 500-750 range. Oh and they still need to change the "case included" in the description because it's a pretty sweet added bonus!

Comments about Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Amazing guitar....if anyone doubts the ability of excellence in craftmanship and quality of wooden instruments coming out of China, think again! The woods, build quality and tone of this guitar are simply amazing for the price...actually at any price! Comes with a very decent hardshell arched case too. The woods used in this example are perfectly bookmatched and the craftsmanyship equals that of the big US manufactuers. I very much like the tone of an all mahogany acoustic, reminds me of Koa, with a bit more sustain. I must say I have had a few US Guild's back in the 70's and 80's and this GAD-125 rings closer in astetics than does the GAD-25 IMO. It's, loud and balanced across all strings, up and down the neck. No gitches in tone or appearance inside and out. The inside is impeccably clean with nary a miss anywhere. Kerfing is tall and perfectly notched, sides are vertically braced, bracing is clean and uniform, no sign of glue anywhere, finish is perfect as well...WOW, I can't believe the quality of this solid wood guitar for the price! It is evident that Guild has a close eye on this Chinese factory and the quality of their builds. I'm so glad to see Guild revived by Fender, both in the US factory and providing exceptional import quality...Kudo's to Fender! Out of the box this acoustic sounds true Guild and continues their unique tone and looks. Guild has always been true to their designs, which truly set them apart from the big three. "Meant to be Played" If I were to hit on one thing it's the three piece neck...however it has a stellar shape, somewhat narrow, but fast, a Guild tradition. A solid neck may be prettier, but is probably not a strong as a laminated heel block neck. This is simply a beautiful guitar to look at, to play and the tone is well in a word stunning. Last but not least, lets give a shout out to Musicians Friend for their service, follow-up and devotion to being IMO the best online seller of musical instruments bar none. Thank you and trust me this is a great buy for a great guitar....it's a keeper, which most likely won't wear off or grow tiring with age!

This Guild is high quality at an outstanding price. Sounds great and is gorgeous. Quality hard case included. This website needs to advertise that the case is included. I found that out from reading theses comments. That adds huge value to the price point.

Comments about Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar because I wanted my first guitar ever, that was a guild, from the early 60's, back. This thing is awesome. The case that comes with it is real plush quality. Overall I give this guitar/case a 10 + Well made by real experts. Just put new addario acoustic light strings on it, lightly tighten the tuners with a screw driver carefully and she's ready to go. Stays in tune.

I ordered this guitar for my 17 year old grandson who has been playing for about 5 years. He loves it. Only glitch was even though I provided the correct address( they had moved in the last year) it was routed to the old address, 2000 miles away! Luckily they were able to intercept and he got the guitar, but about a week late

Comments about Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Old guy here, started guitar last summer when turned 56. Started with a Yamaha FG700S, which has been a great beginner instrument. Wanted to step up a little, read a lot, looked around at local stores, played a number of different guitars, and found I particularly like the sound of the mahogany guitars.

This guitar arrived safe via UPS and tuned right up. It sounds nice, has a comfortable neck for my hands, is well built, all solid wood, and it is comfortable to hold. The Yamaha I have for example is wider across the lower bout, the Guild is narrower and thus a little easier to hold. I had actually looked at a number of OM and other smaller guitars, but the size of this Guild dreadnought works well for me. The only con is a minor one, the finish is more glossy or bright than I might like, but that's a minor thing, and I may even come to like it!

I played a used Martin D15 mahogany several times at local independent store, and it was a fine guitar, no doubt, but used was 2X the cost. No way was it that much better than this Guild. I still have a kid to get thru college here, I can't go too nuts on the guitar purchases, lol. This instrument is a helluva deal, 5 stars for a solid guitar in this intermediate range.
