Gig master - powerful sound, amazing playability. Absolutely roadworthy.
The Hagstrom F-200 Electric Guitar features a patented H-Expander truss rod. Providing tension at either end and running the entire length of the neck, the rigid yet lightweight alloy truss rod allows for very low action and a thin neck.
Another Hagstrom exclusive, the Resonator Fretboard is an extraordinary, homogeneous wood composite that maintains a strong fundamental harmonic and eliminates wolf tones. It offers the articulate sound of high quality ebony but with more consistency and durability. It's silky smooth, reliable and fast.
The F-200 body is made from hard tropical mahogany woods for an impressive, warm and full sound. The set neck is also mahogany providing a bright, expressive tone and superb playability. Custom 58 Alnico 5 matched covered humbuckers with enhanced output and soaring highs.
The self-lubricating graphite composite nut is much harder than bone or plastic resulting in more string vibration through the neck. Tuning is also improved and string binding is eliminated by self-lubrication.
A rock solid block stop tailpiece provides maximum tone and endless sustain by transferring uninhibited string energy directly to the guitar body.
18:1 Gear Ratio machine heads ensure fully accurate tuning.
Finished in high-grade polyester that is hard, smooth, and more dense than polyurethane.

hello this guitar is rather amazing for the low cost. I happen to be at a pawn shop and picked this up brand new with a hardcase for 100.00. I knew of the older models and how well they play, but you cant ever really expect a reissue made in korea to play that well. So what do you get? A great guitar tthat stays in tune and a classic look and a really smooth sound. No problems when playing you place you fingers down and you get what you expect to hear with no added crap. I tour with my band and the vintage case is a nice touch gives other guitar envy lol and when they seem the low cost simple f200 they ask where too find. So iff you get a chance buy one ebay! Beats out your run of the mill fender and you heart wont bee too hurt if it walks off with another band, but you will want it back like that girl you met and didnt get her number.
I'm 56, started playing from virtually scratch 2 and half years ago. I just try to play rythm chords to about 60 songs, mostly classic rock from 60's. I love this guitar. Striking in its beauty, great neck for my small hands. Very good sustain. Just an impressive guitar.
I got it at a local guitar shop and I cannot put it down. It is beautiful. If I broke it or lost it, I would freak and then get another.
Finish is one of the key elements when dealing with guitar tone. When you have a polyester or polyurathane finish on an instruments in keeps the wood from resonating. This makes it imposible for the pickups to transfer the natural tone of the wood, resulting in a bright sound. They are however wonderful playing guitars, yet due to the finish it will never give an experienced ear anything to get exited about.
I got this guitar about 8 months ago and I really love it. Its got a great feel and its pickups are killer. By far the best guitar I've ever played.
I have the "wild cherry" hagstrom f200 . I like it really well . It is a beauty . But it doesn't quite have a neck like my old hags . it has thicker neck and frets , when I press down firmly playing a chord or note it makes the notes a little sharp , I work around this . I don't believe they have captured the magic of the old Hagstroms . BTY my old hags are a hagstrom I from early sixties and a Viking from 1966 . I bought the new hagstrom to play out live (it can be replaced anytime ) and not worry about damaging my my old ones during a gig , or roadies throwing them around . Overall , It's very good guitar . The hags are kinda like ( yeah I ride too ) what they say about Harley bikes , If you have to ask , I can't explain .
Okay where to begin... The Sound is incredible. It is almost like you are playing a pair of single coils with the guts and growl of humbuckers. The neck isn't as fast as a PRS or an Ibanez but it is still pretty darn fast it is also nice and thin and the fretboard has a great feel it isn't to slippery but it isn't to sticky or rough. Other nice features are set neck, 100% mahogany construction, double cutaway body. The only reason it got 8 stars on features and 9 stars on overall is 'cause it didn't have 2 volume and 2 tone you may not mind it as much as I do anyway get this axe it will be mony well spent plus for the price you can't beat it!!!!!
Everything about this guitar is nice; it looks nice, it plays nice, it sounds nice. Its simple in its engineering, one volume knob, one tone knob and a three way toggle. (that's why the 7 on the features) I would think typically Scandinavian; nicely finished and simply appointed. In order to get down and dirty you have to augment with effects, like any guitar. If you run it thru a Vox Valvatronix it sounds great...if you use a pedal or a processor it puts out some great tone. Just remember its not a Les Paul or an SG. But its solid, looks great, the action is fast with the neck being nice and slender, the tuners are sturdy and precision made and it stays in tune. Its a great deal for the 399.00. I bought it at a Music Store in NYC and paid 475.00 (but I got a case). You could play out with this guitar anywhere. Good job to this company for picking up on this line.
