This guitar is pretty sweet. It may not be as good as some guitars, but I would more than happily recommend this guitar to anyone. It has a overwhelming feel. You can't help but play it more and more. You WILL enjoy this guitar I, guarantee it. Just get some new strings. That is it. My third solo resulted in a failure when my string broke in the middle of church! You could guess I was pretty embarrased. I brushed it off. I'm Just a gothic kid with a way with guitars. THANKS MUSICIAN'S FRIEND!!
I went to my local guitar shop to buy a different guitar but it did not feel right as I have very small hands, the guy pointed out the hamer calq to me and I tried it in his sound room. The neck on this guitar is thin and it fitted my hand like a glove and is a very smooth and fast playing neck the pickups are great sound great through my line 6. The finish on the guitar is top notch I would hunt high and low for another one if I lost this guitar.
I've never owned a Hamer before. I love this guitar. The price is pretty decent. The sound is great and the Floyd Rose works well. I just wish the pickups had some more output, but other than that I can't complain. This guitar plays sweet, and it's quite flexible if anything needs to be adjusted. I highly recommend this guitar, but don't be fooled. At first I ordered this guitar thinking it had a set neck... it is a bolt-on. Both this site and Hamer.com say it has a set neck but they are wrong. The bolt-on does affect the sustain but this guitar is nice enough for me. I recommend it strongly.
Great, great guitar, great features, wiked looks, and a really good price here.
A guitar that can really scream. Has no problem with the high notes. Very bright cutting tone, but lacks warmth. If you're looking for something to play stuff like john 5, this guitar is the way to go.
I just purchased one of these and the quality is not typical Hamer! The trussrod channel on my guitar is offcenter. Because of this the Floyd nut screw came loose because it went into the offcenter channel instead of the wood. The binding on the neck is white while the binding on the body is off white. The maple top is a vaneer not a true maple top. The rosewood fretboard is clear coated? Why? The back of the neck has dust and dirt specks that you can feel when playing. The quality control on this guitar leaves alot to be desired! It is a shame because the design and feel of the guitar is great!
Well I purchased the guitar around end of October or the beginning of December and I've had nothing, but good news. It is a very quick guitar for what it is and the price wasn't to shabby either. I also love that it has the freedom to play what ever style of music you wish on it. I range from blues all the way to metal and its seems to be working well as I continue to play it. The only real down fall to the product was I needed to do some minor fret work and it seems to have a little to much gain when your gain is all the way down, but over time I've noticed that the natural gain has grown on me and I would recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking to purchase a very nice starter guitar.
This guitar is a well made Korean instrument. The pickups are very good considering the price of the guitar. The neck plays well and the factory setup was good. I play through a tube amp and this guitar will allow your playing to come through the mix.
