I have this guitar and it is killer.I love it plays so fast As far as the pickups I will in time put even better ones in it soon.but fot now these our great! I had a Les Paul and not going there any more the money to much for it and my Ibanez plays better than a Les Paul so get it this guitar or get a Peavy V type guitar they are very good also. Give it a try you will like it!
I've owned this guitar for two years now, and I love it now more than ever before! Not only do I love the looks and the sleek design, but the feel of this lightweight guitar is better than anything else I've played ('cept maybe a Parker Fly). For the money you spend on this guitar, you're not going to get many better deals, and I bought it new. The tremelo is excellent, and I've gone weeks of constant playing without having to tune it (string bends, dive-bombs and all). The only thing lacking, I feel, the bridge pick-up, which sometimes does not have as much of a bite as I'd like it to. I might replace it with a Seymour Duncan, though. I LOVE having the single coil right there when I need it. This guitar is the answer to having to change between my strat and les paul between songs! The S470DXQM is an awesome deal, and it suits my diverse playing styles!
This guitar is amazing! This guitar is very thin, and fast playing. Some of the older tremelo locking guitars have been a pain to re-place broken strings, but this guitar revolutionizes the idea of tremelo locking guitars! The only down side is that it only has 22 frets. It still is a great metal guitar or a jazz guitar. You may consider a pickup change but the ones on their still very nice. Its smooth looks and great sound make for, in my opion, the best Ibanez 6-string guitar that was ever made. Please E-Mail me if you have any questions.
I just bought it, and it's serving me very well. The Zero point tremolo is extremely useful, because I frequently change from standard e to drop D between songs. The Pickups are suprisingly good for stock pickups, and I don't think i'll change them anytime soon. This is an EXCELLENT guitar, and for the price, it makes it even MORE excellent!!
I have owned this guitar for three years now. I really love it. It sounds amazing and the neck is awesome. It has great action and a great sound. My only complaint would be the occasional fret buzzing and the model i have does not have the speed loader tremelo system which is a royal pain. But all in all, this is a great guitar for shredding, chords or whatever. It can handel a brutal tremelo beating or a smooth blues solo.
I bought this guitar about 2 days ago and it is so AMAZING!! I put strap locks on i and threw it aroun my neck and it spun TWICE!! The pick-ups are astounding and the Wizard II neck is the best!! BUY THIS GUITAR!!!
This guitar is amazing. First off, i'd like to say that the features are great. The ZR bridge is a dream, and the wizard II neck is a great neck for me as i am used to strats, and the wizrd I is a bit too thin for my liking. It has a good combination of shreddability and chunkyness. The pickups are a slight let down, but once i fit in a Mo Joe Bridge in my neck and an EVO bridge, the guitar just completely slammed my friends X2N loaded RG prestige. Great for anyone who loves the mahogany tone, with a great clean split tone from the mid pickup. Buy it.
Perfect. Thats how it arrived. Perfect. Every string was in tune, I locked down the bridge and neck. I plugged her in, and went to town on the strings. After giving them a good stretching and some hard playing I retuned. Simply incredible.I can understand some having difficulty with learning all about the tremelo, but really, its a breeze. The fit and finish on this is simply unreal. Ive owned dozens of guitars and NOTHING was as beautiful, as light, or felt as good as this. The neck plays like greased lightening, the tremelo holds the strings in tune once theyre stretched out, and the little tuners on it bring anything back into tune in a flash should they stretch when initially getting them into shape. Wonderful guitar. After having purchased it I can honestly say, especially in light of its looks, which are stunning, I would have payed twice as much.I dont know how they can offer it for this price considering how much work must go into creating the bodies incredible finish. Simply unreal. I am in love.
I have played Gretch guitars, Fender Knockoffs, A great Les Paul Artisan (which I still have for Jazz and Soft Rock), Gibson quitar solid body which was ok but was stolen at a dance I played at)and I find this Ibanez quitar fun, lightweight, responsive (rarely goes out of tune) and drives the notes very well. I which however, that the switch was located in a different area to avoid the trem bar from crashing into it, and I wish their was one more switch that kept all pickups on, but all that can be adjusted on the amp to give it warmth (brown sound). Overall great guitar, have at it.
I bought this guitar like 3 times and the third was the charm. The first time it wasn' brand new so i returned it. The second time i noticed that the wood used for the back part was crappy AND there were TWO mosquitos in the finish. Finally i got it off musicians friend and it came 99% perfect. I like it alot. The color is astonishing, the chrome zero tremolo system is beautiful, the body is ultra thin (s series) and the neck is super fast and flat. I really like the jumbo frets and the s inlays on the fretboard which are pearloid. The pick-ups are okay, they're not WOW, but for the price you pay it's pretty good. I'm not to convinced the the quality of the guita is consistently good since i found some shotty workmanship in all three guitars that i at one point had, but thank God for return policies. I wish it had 24 frets, but it only has 22. To conclude: i thought this guitar was better than the satriani model which is twice as much.
