This guitar rocks fot the money. Been playing 52yrs and would not trade this for any other.
I won't lie to anyone. A lot of people compared this to a Gibson Les Paul but I think the SZ model in general is way better by a long shot. Has great sustain, good tonality, perfect scale length (imo) and is just plain phenominal style. I've been using the SZ model since they came out and haven't strayed from them once. I have 2 SZ320's and three SZ520's. If you have a chance to try one definitely do it up.
Played this guitar, and fell in love immediately. The neck is nice and wide, easy to play, finish and workmanship is nice for Korean made guitar. Changed to pups to Duncan 59 and Jazz in neck and bridge, respectively. Is now a LP killer. Seriously. Saved me about 600 bucks, and have a great guitar that is one of my favorites.
This guitar looks and plays like it should cost over a thousand dollars. The action was perfect, and it plays like a dream. It has very nice, crisp sound on a clean channel, and with distortion it has a very classic, crunchy sound. I have the weathered brown finish, and it has such a classy look to it. I even had people ask me if it was custom made. While researching this guitar I was hard-pressed to find any bad reviews, or even anything bad at all to say about this guitar. Now I know why.
I played this guitar in the music shop just 'cause it looked nice and bluesy, but aggresive and metal at the same time. I was using the bridge humbucker which sounds sharp and edgy with a little bit of snap and twang. I switched to the neck humbucker, it sounded deep, dark and warm. It was as bluesy as it gets. It was nice to play, I ran the fingers all along the fretboard with ease and comfort, but still keeping clarity in the notes. It just felt like the right guitar for me so I bought it for $430. I really got to observe it when I got home. I looked at the fretboard inlays....they were beautiful multicolored stone or "abalone" as I found out it was called. I thought finding an Ibanez with tuners on both sides of the headstock was cool, that's how I like it. The logo in pearloid looks really classy, like something you would sell in a jewelry store. The Gibraltar bridge is really cool, just holes, ha! The sustain, I later noticed, was incredible. I turned the neck humbucker's volume all the way down and I played a note using the bridge humbucker, and while I held the note I switched between humbuckers like Van Halen does and the note help up a while. Well I lowered the saddle 'cause the action could be lowered more and then I could really play smoothly. Well really I have no complaints about this guitar. Looks good, sounds good, plays good. An EXCELLENT guitar in every sense.
I was just blown away buy this gold top guitar I found at my local guitar shop.I stared at it for about 5mins before I decided to play it. Afterwards I knew I had to have it. I had been saving for a les Paul, and when I closed my eyes, I had it in my hand. I bought the sz320, and a cube 30 amp. Just a smoking guitar right out of the box. And I still had money left over. I had been searching for a new guitar for about 5 years.I already own a Ibanez rt450.My hat is off to the guys at Ibanez, they definitly are a tough act to follow.Get one, and smile forever.
The sound from this guitar is amazing. I play it out of my creat half stack and it's a dream... both pick ups have a great definning tone from each. the only down fall is the guitar is heavey. it's hard to swing it around. the guitar plays amazing the action is low and fast.
I've had this guitar for about 4 months and I love it. I've been playing for almost 2 years and learn fast. My 15 watt fender amp sucks but I've played it through a friends peavey half stack and it sounded great. And I hope to get a Peavey Bandit 112 2 transtube amp next month. I got the guitar in black. They were out of the brown ones and I really wanted a brown one, because fingerprints and scratches etc. show up alot easier on black finishes. But if your at the right angle or its just been polished it looks new and great. AMAZING deal. Ibanezes are very high quality Instruments for a fraction of the price of high end gibsons (which they are identical to or better in quality). This guitar is very versatile and it stays in tune very well. Not fragile, I've hit it hard on a desk and once I fell out of a chair and hit the nut against a shelf. It went slightly out of tune but was fine. Buy it you will not regret it.
Perfect for the nimble fingered player. Notes are well balanced and seem very defined, you could almost call it High Definition. Amazing build quality for the price paid. In basic black it has a very eligant look. Size and weight are just right for long gigs.
I bought this guitar at a closing music store, at an even lower price. It is a great guitar! The action is perfect, and it sounds great, when you plug it in. This is the perfect guitar, whether you are just gettin started, or you want to step it up a notch. It is perfect for any type of music. BUY IT!!!!!
Great guitar for the price, get more than I expected. Thick sound, great sustain, good looking, comfort for speeding and chord. I think it's nice for droop D too. Try it
I bought my sz a year ago. I loved it then and I still use it and play lots of gigs with it! I recently threw some emg pickups in it and WOW! The sound is out of this world. You can pull off pinch harmonics fairly easily. down right.. one bad mutha of a guitar!
This does not sound like any other guitar I have ever played. I own a "Lp" Strat, and an Esp W/EMGs. This sounds refreshingly different. I play many types of music and it suits many styles well. If you want a "LP", Buy One, You cannot compare apples and oranges, I love this guitar, It sounds great. It will give you a unique edge to your sound.
I played this guitar for the first time a year ago, I decided I had to have it. About 3 months later I bought one. The best purchase I ever made, it is my main guitar out of seven, i play it every day and i only have to tune it once or twice a day, if at all, not bad considering i play up to 12 hours a day. It has awesome sustain, and the thru-neck is amazing, i can hit all the high notes perfectly and its instantly comfortable, i want another. after owning this guitar for about 9 months it's still a thrill picking it up. excellent guitar, espically for the price.
I have had mine for about 6 months and I love playing it everyday! It has a great feel and sound. Had to change my bridge pickup though. For some reason mine didn't come with "duncans" like this one shown here! Buy it. Play it. Love it. You won't be sorry!!!!!
You can't go wrong with this axe. I got one about three years ago used. It had some signs of heavy use, but the intonation and playability is spot on. This thing has a great midrange tone. Very full bodied sound on plam mutes and a great dark tone on motor picking and full shred riffs. The stock pickups aren't bad at all. They aren;t terribly dynamic like a good Seymour or Dimarzio, but the bridge pickup is more than adequate for a good, thick metal tone. They will drive the front end of any high gain amp well and you can get some nice pinch harmonics out of them. Not very noisey at all. The string thru body design really brings out the tone of the mahogany and maple top. The sustain is excellent. This is a ridiculous value for such a great guitar. It sounds great, plays great and feels great. I consider it my secret weapon. It has a tone all it's own. Great for metal and hard rock.
If your a metal player, than this is definitly the guitar for you! Its pretty versitial. I play covers anywhere from of Breaking Benjamin to Atreyu songs and this guitar definitly delivers. I own a les paul which I play a lot of punk and alternative on, but this is definitly my favorite guitar
Stays in tune. Nice low action. Good looks (own the black version.) I also like how the three-way switch is tucked out of way below the volume/tone knobs where it can't get knocked around too easily. I recommend this well made guitar to anyone!
this guitar is a great guitar the action is great great for any stylebig value worth alot more than the price tag
This guitar is great. The pu's are amazing they make any amp shine. The Neck pu isn't muddy like most guitars are. This guitar is very les paul like in its tone and the neck. Great Buy.
