A stage-ready Artwood with a solid engelmann spruce top, mahogany back & sides, and Fishman pickup.

This is a descendent of the old orchestral acoustic guitars, instruments designed to be audible over large instrumental ensembles in the days before amplification. The AW300ECENT Grand Concert is a member of the Artwood Traditional Acoustic-Electric series. These performance-level guitars share many features and are distinguished by their body style and woods used.

If you need a traditional guitar that can easily switch from acoustic to electric, you've found it here in the Ibanez AC300ECENT Artwood Grand Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. With a Fishman Sonicore Pickup and Ibanez SST Shape Shifter Preamp with Onboard Tuner, players will notice how smooth the transition is from acoustic to electric and back, and it will make playing live gigs so much easier.

The AC300ECENT features a solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides for excellent acoustic tone. The Grand Concert body with cutaway is perfect for finger picking, as it features a wider, 44.5mm neck and shorter 24.9" scale length. Other refinements include a bone saddle on a distinctively contoured bridge and a headstock where tradition and modern style co-exist.

This Ibanez benefits from sophisticated electronics using a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner to faithfully reproduce exquisite acoustic tones at any volume level. The AC300ECENT also features both 1/4" and XLR outputs for increased versatility.

Comments about Ibanez AC300ECENT Artwood Grand Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After returning the first one that I bought, as I indicated in my previous two reviews, I spent a full month researching my next guitar. I have big hands so I only look for wider nuts. Now I'm on a budget so my choices were few and I kept thinking about how beautiful this guitar was. The pictures don't make it justice. So I thought that for the price, I should give it another chance, so I ordered online. This second one came perfect. No flaws, action was high but I filed down the saddle with no problems at all and now this baby plays extremely easy. Only four days and the sound has improved a lot. Now I'm certain that the first one was a missed ítem in the Ibanez quality control department.

Comments about Ibanez AC300ECENT Artwood Grand Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is an update of my previuos review. A week later the guitar has improved sound a lot, but I had to return it. First, I noted that the piece that holds the line outputs have detach from the guitar, maybe with the vibration from continuous playing. No big deal. A screwdriver and the problem was half resolved given that it will not adjust the piece fully. Second and worst, I noted that as the days passed, I felt as the guitar was getting more uncomfortable to play. I tried to lower the action with no results. Even with the action that high it had a frett buzz in the first fret in the low E and A strings. I took the guitar to a luthier who told me that even if he sanded the saddle all the way down, the action will not go down and that there was no way to get rid of the buzz, given that the bridge was too high. The neck was bended and it will not get straight. He told me that this guitar should have never pass quality control. A shame because the sound developed very well in just one week and the guitar is very pretty, having the looks of guitars two times its price and with its 1 3/4" nut width is very comfortable to play. It is really 1 3/4". I'm sure I had bad luck with this one. I still keep my Yamaha FG700ms... half the price and never had quality issues.

Comments about Ibanez AC300ECENT Artwood Grand Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is very beautiful and very comfortable to play given its shorter scale (25") and the nut width (exactly 1 3/4"). The finish is of a very high quality guitar. The sound... well it is a little bit tiny given that it's not as deep as my FS700 that is 4 5/8". The sound of my FS700 (that is half the price) is much better, but the playability of the Ibanez is better given the wider neck (I have bigger hands than most players I know...). I'm not saying that the sound is no good...it is good. But compared to the Yamaha it falls a little bit short. Anyway this Ibanez is a keeper. I will not use this for recording. I have a seagull and a yamaha for that. But I think I will be using it more to play live given its comfortability and dual output (it has a 1/4" and a XLR output).
