Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I own several Ibanez electric guitars and have been waiting for an affordable electric-acoustic one and this one caught my eye right off the bat! The price was just right and I knew it would be a good investment and would sound good, I was not dissapointed. Although it plays great right out of the box, I took it to my guitar tech and had him look for any issues, the only thing he suggested was a minor tweak to the trussrod (I believe someone else's reveiw mentioned that as well)I also had him change the strings(not really an issue;just me!) This guitar will satisfy most players of any skill level, but you know there are always those that will slam it. Consider my review, try it. if you don't agree; Musicians Friend has a great return policy!

Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

It is a great guitar for the price. Feels great. Looks great. Sounds great. Right out of the box, the action is spot on, really easy to chord and riff even on the higher frets. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but the tuner works great and it just feels really comfortable, like an old friend.

Bought this for my wife. Good intermediate guitar after action is adjusted. Clear tone and stays in tune, fairly loud acoustically. Has a pretty finish.

Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I've had this guitar for 8 months now, and I am extremely satisfied with it. I absolutely love it, it sounds amazing and it isn't hard to play due to the thin-ish body.

        Gotta love the flames.

Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

Owned this guitar for 2 years. Great action, and sweet neck, especially if you're an electric guitar player. I even prefer it over the ovation necks. Unplugged very thin sounding, but fattens up when plugged in. Probably cause of the thin body. Only a couple of knocks. Not a big fan of the high gloss finish in fact even with a humidifier the finish has a couple of small cracks. I had the nut replaced also because of a crack in it as well. Overall, a good value although I may look at some of the similiar priced Takimine, Yamaha's, Dean's, and Fenders. If you're looking for that full dread sound you're not going to find it hear. But, if you play electric, like ovations, and are playing it plugged in, this is a great guitar.

Top of the Line Acoustic for a Small Price

Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I have had the Ibanez AEF 18 for over a year. I also have an Ovation. I prefer my Ibanez over my Ovation for a couple of reasons. The Ibanez has a great clean sound (especially with Elixir strings). The Ibanez also has a good easy to maneuver fretboard. The Ibanez AEF 18 also comes with an accurate tuner. This is a must have acoustic period.

A gem and an incredible bargain

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I recently purchased the black model of the AEF18E and am absolutely delighted with it. Right out of the box the setup and intonation were terrific and very playable. I was looking for an acoustic-electric with the elusive "perfect loud acousitic sound" and I was surprised and very impressed with the B-band pickups. The onboard controls (which also include a tuner) are the best I've ever seen and a joy to use. Instead of sliders, volume, bass, mid, treble and shape are separate thumb wheels and very intuitive. They are absolutely the best controls I've ever seen on an a/e guitar. The overall amplified tone is smooth and warm, without the majority of that nasty piezo crunch sound, especially with the treble knocked back by about 70%. The controls allow you to tailor the sound to whatever PA and room you happen to be playing in, with a broad range of tonality available. This guitar is a hidden gem. I went in prepared to spend upwards of $1000 on an a/e and was astounded to walk away with this guitar only costing $349.00.It's a great guitar for professional guitarists due to its live tonality, controls and playability, yet for the modest cost beginners can comfortably afford to get an astonishingly great guitar. Ibanez has created a gem.

Best I Found In the Price Range

        By Josh-Rj1.d

Comments about Ibanez AEF18E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I went to a local shop and played anything that looked halfway attractive in this price range. My tests were mainly plugged in tests. I didn't compare the subtle sonic qualities of unplugged. If I would have had absolute quiet I'm sure that other non-painted hardtops would have scored higher, but once I plugged this guitar in... it really shined.Just for the heck of it I grabbed a few more expensive guitars and compared it against those when plugged in. I'd say it beat out about half of them. It even beat out the Martins that I tried.I give this guitar 8's for features and quality, but it gets a 10 from me in value because of the great bang for the buck. Overall it gets a 9.If you are looking to play mainly unplugged, I can't speak for you in the review... you'll have to do your own research, but if you are looking for a great guitar for plugged-in work, I'd have to say this is the one.
