I can see myself playing this guitar for many years. It is a very comfortable size acoustic guitar. The cutout makes it easy to get to the higher frets. The smaller neck size is perfect for someone with smaller hands or someone older like me who doesn't have as much flexibility in his hands.

I do wish it had been through a better setup process so I didn't have to play around trying to get rid of some fret buzzing. That is better now, but the action is a little high to compensate.
The built-in tuner is awesome. I compared it to a good quality external tuner and it was dead on. Having it right there all the time is great, especially for someone who is just learning to play.

When connected to an amp this guitar sounds so beautifully clean. I wasn't getting any feedback issues and didn't need to utilize the phaser option. The equilizer worked great.
Very nice glossy black finish. All of the seems were tight and even. I did have to tighten some of the hardware (tuner nuts, some loose screws) which may have become loose during shipping.

Overall quality is very good for the cost.
This is a lot of guitar for the money. Wonderful full sound.

PERFECT!!!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar was the best decision of my life. First of all, it is GORGEOUS! I bought the vintage sunburst design, and the colors are a little darker than in the picture, but it is the most beautiful instrument I have ever laid eyes on. Next, it's lovely to play. I am a 5'5 female, and since jumbo guitars certainly don't work for me, but I don't want a child size, this is just right. Plus, the action is just right. Not too high (like my old guitar) that it's difficult, and not too low that it buzzes against the fretboard. The built-in tuner is fantastic to have, and the sounds is really quite good. I love this guitar!

BEST guitar for the money

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was a skeptic about Ibanez acoustics. A friend had one about 10 years ago and I thought it was a joke of a guitar. Flimsy materials and quacky electronics. NOT SO with this gem! The small, shallow cutaway body means that there isn't much bass response, but the tone is still lively and pleasant with plenty of volume without sounding flat or tinny like other laminate top acoustics. I wish it had a solid top - that's my one regret - but for the price, I'm not complaining. The tuning machines are excellent - very smooth motion and they really hold tune. There are some blemishes in the binding, but again, I'm not complaining with a guitar that plays well and sounds good at this price point. The best feature is the electronics. The Fishman pickup is great. The Ibanez SST preamp produces a warm, rich sound; and when you're playing through a system, that's that matters a lot more than the acoustic tone anyway. It sounds as good plugged in as a guitar five times the price. The tuner is spot on. A great beginner guitar that will last you for years and years and that you'll keep around forever.

Good Experience

By JonnyZ

from Fort Wayne, IN

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've played a Jasmine by Takmine S35 for four years. Honestly, any guitar is an upgrade from that, but I love this guitar! I went to a local guitar shop with a friend who was buying a new guitar. As he was shopping around, I picked up the AEG10E and started playing. I liked it so much I decided to buy it from here (it was slightly cheaper). I'm not too serious of a player, but if you're playing a cheap guitar like I was, you will fall in love with this thing for two reasons 1) The action is low. Some have said their's buzzed. If that's the case, go to a shop and have them adjust it. 2) It has much better sound. My friend even commented positivey on its sound.

Yes, yes, the tone may not be as good as a thicker guitar, but for its size, it is great! I rarely plug in, but it is true that it sounds even better plugged in. Unplugged is by no means bad though. Can I compare its sound to my friend's Martin? I wouldn't go that far, but I'd say at the least, it is definately worth every penny spent. Go to a guitar shop, see if you like it! It's worth checking out at least.

Oh, and I got the black. It's great! I've seen the sunburst too, and it's pretty sweet also!

Amazing

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this amazing Ibanez AEG10E guitar 2 years ago, and it's the best guitar I have ever played. It sounds great plugged in as well as alone, has big sound and great features too. The sound quality is second to none compared to takamines and martins over twice its price, worth every penny. Very easy to play too. I bought it in vintage sunburst and it is beautiful. I would strongly urge you to look into this great Ibanez when looking for a new Acoustic-Electric guitar. It can be played at home or at concerts. This is the best guitar for the price.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is amazing down to every detail! The extremely thin body grab my attention first, and the unplugged sound being almost as bold and loud as the plugged up sound kept my attention! The onboard tuner is nifty and the EQ give amazing cotrol over the plugged up tone. I would gladly pay up to 3 or maybe even 4 times more. Best acoustic AND acoustic/electric i've ever played (and that's ALOT)!

A great plug-in workhorse

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I play out at several local venues a lot...sometimes several times a week. I have a Washburn EA-10 that has better wood for an acoustic sound and is a full bodied dreadnought. But I usually end up playing my Ibanez. After replacing the saddle with bone and lowering the action a bit, it is the best sounding, easiest playing electric/acoustic guitar I own. The acoustic sound is not bad. Surprising projection and volume. I've had the guitar for several years and the acoustic tone has gotten better. Because of the price point, it's the guitar I take everywhere...camping, jamming, and on my gigs where I want to sound good. Worst thing...the tuners are starting to bind a bit. I need to replace them with some 18:1 Grovers! Jammon!

This is a high quality guitar, and I have had pretty good luck with it. After about a year, I had to replace the whole pickup system because there was buzzing in the system. Ibanez fixed it no questions asked.

amazing
i had had it for about a month and everything works great, it has a thinner body sdo it's really easy to play and sounds great, the tuner and pickups work great, and the sunburst color is beautiful - i can't speak for the durability since i haven't had it that long, it's came strung w/ di'addario's and they sound amazing.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just got it today, already gave it a full run-through! Really good, the tuner works like a charm, used it the second I picked it up and worked to perfection. The only thing that is slightly odd, notice, I said ODD, not bad, is the position of the strap knob. Kinda weird. But it's definitely amazing. buy it!

Nice for the Price

By Robert Forbes

from Doylestown, PA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a nice looking guitar at a reasonable price. I like the size of the body of the guitar. My other acoustic is a dreadnought and at times feels a little bulky. This one is more comfortable to handle. My only thing I don't love is that the action is a little higher than I would prefer.
The automatic tuner is accurate, and the Pick-up sounds good when plugged in.
Nice quality for the money! The black finish looks great, and the abalone inlay is a nice touch.
This guitar play great for the price. It looks like a much more expensive guitar than it actually is.

      Ibanez Guitar

      By Tim-ZE_Ys

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great guitar. Bought it about 6 months ago at LA Music (since I live in Toronto, I couldn't get it from this site, and believe it or not, LA music is located in Toronto) and it has worked great so far for me. Love the onboard tuner. It is so useful...The cutout is also great for soloing in the high frets. Looks amazing, sounds nice with an amp, both clean and overdrive. I played it in church last weekend, and everything worked great. Unfortunately, I snapped my E string during the postlude, but it isn't the guitar's fault. I think it came with light strings, so I'll probably buy medium next, so they'll last longer. I also had a bit of trouble switching batteries, since alkaline AA's didn't work with the guitar. Hmm..... Anyways, I'll recommend it to anyone looking for a guitar with a cheap price, great features, good sound, and great looks. Overall, it's a great buy.

      Great Stage Guitar!

      By Tom Dixon

      from New Hampshire

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I play out just about every weekend and this is my primary acoustic guitar. The sound unplugged is lacking slightly because of it's size, but what it lacks acoustically it makes up for it when plugged into the PA. I am the type of person who likes to move around on stage and, even though I am a big guy, I still love the thin body style. It's really a comfortable guitar to play.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought mine about four years ago in Munich, Germany. It sounds really good plugged in and it really managed to survive my "abuse" over the years of performing in clubs and different stages. I played this guitar all around and it's been a joy from the beginning. Tuner is very good and the guitar doesn't lose it's tuning as quickly as you would expect from a guitar in this price range. The most important thing is that this guitar is VERY comfortable to play. A smart buy.... :)

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for two years and have never had a problem with it. The action tends to be kind of high, but other than that, the sound quality is great. Its perfect for me because i have small fingers. I love the sound quality. I have a gloss black one; the only thing I don't like about the black is that my fingerprints are clearly visible on it. But I polish it regularly so it hasn't been a problem. Over all, I love this guitar and would recommend it to people who are just starting to play AND for tiny, short people like me!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ibanez AEG10E I have had this guitar for a couple of years and just now getting aroung to reviewing it. Finish - nice, I have the black and Ibanez did a great job with the inlays.Body - Mine is a thin body style 3-1/4 inches deep and 15-1/8 inch lower bout which makes it very easy to play for most anyone. If you are looking for a thin body case, I got the SKB economy thin body case and it fits fine.I am not sure if guitar is offered in standard body depth or not (check into that )Neck - Again like the body will fit most anyone's hands, very playable. The rosewood looks really nice and during a string change use some Dunlop fretboard conditioner to really bring out the grain.Action - I played it for awhile then noticed some fret buzzing so I took it to my local set up tech and he lowered it down perfectly, and its played great ever since. ( its a minor adjustment )Stings - It came with D'Addario 10's and I have stuck with that brand ...and 10's as recommended but changed to straight Bronze from Bronze/Phosr. and I like the sound better.Sound/electronics - unplugged it has a sound you would expect from a thin body ( but its not thin sounding)when compared to other types of guitars and sounds good. I play it unplugged allot. Plugged in to the amp it sounds great. Overall both ways it is clear and bright with good tone and sustain. The onboard tunner is nice and you can really shape your sound with the slidders + phase option.Reliability - I have never had an issue with anything breaking or malfuctioning...this is my everyday guitar for picking around the house.I hope this helps
