I am a published song writer and play in a popular trio with two well known, excellent musicians. I also produce my own music in a very good quality home studio. For some time I have been looking for a classical guitar with a small gague neck. I tried and love Taylor (own two), but didn't want to spend the money for the Taylor classical, given my limited need. The Ibanez was the perfect compromise. It's very playable, attractive, well put together, excellent features for the money, sounds great live (through mains), and records great. I didn't rush into the guitar. Owning several instruments, quality comes first for me, but this guitar hit all the strides we put it through. Take your time buying any acoustic instrument, but take a minute to consider this if budget is also important. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar several years ago from Musicians Friend & I am very happy & satisfied with this guitar. I am 65 years old & I enjoy playing the blues & clazzik rock. This is my very first nylon string guitar & I bought it on impulse after reading the description of the narrow neck designed for the steel string player in mind. As stated- I do not play classical guitar! However when I started playing some of the classic songs that I know like Bad Company,Knocking on Heaven's Door,California Dreamin', Heart of Gold, etc. the sound was just awesome! I've even played with a slide on a couple of songs like Tobbacco Road & Bad to the Bone & in addition to that I've used it on some blues improvising with & without a slide! I have a very nice collection of guitars some of which are "high-end" both electric & steel string acoustic. I don't exactly know the reason but I find myself picking up this one more & more whether i'm just practicing for myself or entertaining. If you want to add a new voice to your repertoire- Buy this guitar! & buy it from Musicians Friend- They were the first to make guitars & equipment affordable to the local musician! B4 that- well you had to pay retail+ in your local music store!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you are a Classical, Folk, or Indie/Low-Fi artist, you cannot find a better guitar at a lower price. Unplugged or Amped, but especially direct midi connected, this guitar really shines! Harmonics of the Angels, what more could you ask for? For finger-pickers, the added plus of space with grace.

All you could want:

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been playing for 35 years and have owned every kind of guitar you can name,I have always wanted a nylon string guitar but no one made one with a nut smaller that about 2 inches now some people realized there was a market for them and even taylor makes one and I have played it and it is very nice and very pricey so I thank Ibanez for making a very good fun fun guitar that is east to play and with good action. The sound unpluged is just OK but pluged in this axe really shines.Great looks, good sound and a low price adds up to all you need. I love my Ibanez AEG10NETNG and I believe you will to.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is an amazing instrument for the money. I have ten other much more expensive guitars but this is the one I gig with (acoustically) the most. Wonderful electronics and action. I had to adjust the bridge to correct the intonation and also had to remove a few burrs from the fret ends. I use the Planet Waves sound hole cover which prevents feedback without diminishing the tone. Two musician friends of mine were so impressed by the sound they both bought one. Also got one for my daughter and she loves it. My advice is simply to buy this guitar because you won't regret it. And so very affordable. Pretty cool!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have played 25 years and played many types. I did a tremendous amout of reading and looking before deciding on this Beauty... I play all types of music blues/jazz are my fav's,. I love to lead . and this is where my 2% comes into play. If you're playing straight lead with no bending. WOW !.. but don't expect it to play like a solid body electric(bending).. This guitar has a Beautiful sound and playability. It has a personality that wants you to play it to it's fullest. It Delivers. Amplified ( I play through Marshall ) , brings out a rich tone and sound that makes me think of giving up my solid bodies. I have played similiar guitars with price tags of 4 digits that don't compare. Chris, Illinois

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had to work on the bridge & frets to soften the edges. Otherwise this is a really nice guitar. Sounds quite nice. The equalizer/tuner was beyond my expectations. Overall I'm very happy. I now own 4 guitars and find myself picking up the Ibanez most often. The fact that the neck is very close in size to my steel string guitars makes moving from one to another effortless. I spoke so highly of this guitar that my brother (who owns several very high end guitars ) ordered one. By the way : apparently my guitar must have just come off the boat it was so new. It came out of the box sounding pretty good and in the short time I've had it the sound has improved dramatically. I fully expect it to improve more with time.

    Incredible Value!!

    By The Owl

    from Atlanta GA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

As a home-based recording artist, I've been craving the sound of a nylon-string guitar for ages, especially for some of my newer pieces. The dilemma I faced was getting a beautiful full nylon-string sound without breaking the bank. When I learned about this Ibanez, I just had to look into it. Though not as loud as a regular full-depth classical, it works well in a home studio environment, and when plugged in to record, the tone was SWEET, crisp and clear. The built-in tuner comes in real handy, and the Fishman designed pre-amp works just great for quick tone-shaping. Playability wise, I can't complain, being a primaruily electric guitarist, the neck was just right for me, strings at just the right tension. You want a nylon that will sound great on stage ND for recording, try this!

Ideal budget nylon string axe for flattop player

    By LanceS22

    from Naples, FL

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar has given me just what I wanted. I wanted to be able to get the nylon string sound for sambas and classical pieces. After playing steel strings for 30 years, I can't get comfortable with a std. classical neck, and I can't spend the money for a Taylor NS (I have a Taylor 510 CE I love). Unplugged, it's soft, quiet enough not to disturb the family late at night, and w/electronics, the sound is beautiful and very adjustable. Good looking, too. Amazing at the price. I'm very satisfied.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It sounds good. Good craftmanship sounds good when on amp. The neck and body almost feel like a electric guitar(being thin) it has 21 frets and you can get down and play all of them with the single cut. I really like the action too, its cool to do bends and whatnot...some times I even play rock songs on it. Everything looks good and feels good to play. And a great price for a guitar of its kind.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I can't stand to play classical guitars. I hate the plastic strings. But, now... OH MY! This is the most beautiful sounding guitar that I have ever heard. It feels just right. It almost played itself. I hadn't played a classical guitar in several years. I either got REALLY good over the years or IBANEZ simply made a beautiful instrument (could be both). I played a dozen guitars in the store yesterday and none made an impact on me like this one did. I'll pick up a KARMA synthesizer in the morning, but I'm gonna have to beg my wife to let me have this, too. IT IS BEAUTIFUL

Guitar is poorly made, It will not stay in tune. It feels and looks cheap, not something you would want other musicans seeing you playing. Thank goodness for Musicans Friends 45 day return policy as I would hate to have been stuck with this guitar. Save your money and buy a better guitar.

    Just what I needed!

    By Gill Chesney-Green

    from UK and Gibraltar

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

See above for comments - what more could I say?
I took this out of the box 3 hours ago... and I already love it!

I live abroad mainly and only come back to the UK for about 3 or 4 months a year and needed a new guitar for the music nights I attend over here. I didn't want to spend too much because of not really getting to play it too often... but I needed an acoustic/electric as my previous guitar was an old Spanish acoustic and it was getting too difficult to keep on setting up a mike near to the sound hole.

I love this... it will do the job well for me and the price was just right. It's better than its price - that's for sure! Feels nice to hold and the sound is just what I need. I am used to playing nylon strings and didn't think I'd get one at this sort of price - but I was wrong! The slim neck is a bonus for my small hands, too.

I'd just bought a clip on tuner recently... but this is now relatively redundant as I'll be playing this guitar more than my previous one.

I'm sure that I'm going to love it even more over the coming years... a good buy undoubtedly!
See above for comments - but certainly a nice tone!

    Cool Enough

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Looks and feels very nice and it plays good right out of the box, I like that. Not much set up and it stays in tune, I like that. This one, like most thin body guitars I've played, sound better equalized through an amp. But I needed an inexpensive guitar that plays well and I could amp up when I wanted to. My only complaint is a few minor scratches and the strap pin in the back of the neck was installed at a wierd angle, but all in all cool enough for a knock around the house guitar.

    Ibanez AEG10NE

    By Matt-qDwOZ

    from San Diego, CA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The guitar is beautiful and does not appear to have any major flaws in finish or construction. Unplugged it sounds good but does not have a lot of volume. Of course this is to be expected from an AE guitar. When you plug it in it sounds very nice and clean. The bass is excellent for such a cheap guitar and the guitar plays very well. I have a lot of experience playing acoustic steel string guitars and this is my first nylon string. I played many classical guitars at a local guitar dealer both AE and non electric and this one stood out the most in both looks and performance. I believe this is the best value for the price range. I would recommend changing the strings when you purchase it because the strings it comes with and no good in my opinion. The guitar sounds excellent with nickel-wound strings.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar last week and it is really nice and solidly built. The finish is matte so it's not shiny and doesn't attract much dust which is cool because black finishes get dusty looking fast. It's rather quiet when not plugged in...which is a bonus if you like playing during bouts of insomnia. That's the only time I use it unplugged. When it's plugged in the sound is incredibly good. I'm getting ready to connect it to a new mixer and record with it. With just the built-in preamp it sounds full-bodied like a pricey dreadnought or jumbo...just turn up the bass and middle channels on the preamp. I've got it now plugged into a Line6 GuitarPort then to my PC for light songwriting. When adding effects this guitar sounds amazing at crazy volumes with minimal feedback. I wish the battery plate/line-out jack was located more to the side of guitar rather then toward the base--if you keep it on a guitar stand the two may bump into each other, is all. Pretty minor criticism. My fingerpicking repertoire has just bloomed in tone quality and speed. The action is fantastic. Compared to the Ovation nylon string I used to have this is a far better deal. Worth every blessed cent!

Just purchased the Aeg10ne and I love it. I have played other classicals but this one has the features I like. On board tuner strap knob at the base of the neck and the great orange tone. Played it live in a worship setting and it did not disappoint. It plugged in fine with my effects board and gave a great sound. I recommend this guitar for an affordable purchase with great sound.
