Comments about Ibanez AEW51 Exotic Wood Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Shopping for a new guitar is a very personal thing. Despite manufacturer's claims and the reviews of others, we usually do well to find a guitar that looks, feels, and sounds right to *us*. For me, the Ibanez AEW51NT is that guitar. First, I wanted a guitar that was acoustic/electric. This guitar is certainly that, even having an XLR output so that it can be plugged into a mixing board. Second, I wanted a thinner body guitar, not a full-size dreadnought. Nothing beats the full-bodied sound of a dreadnought, but I wanted something more comfortable. This guitar is thinner and narrower than a dreadnought. The thinner body means less bass unamplified, but that is fine as I use it mainly for finger-style. Third, I wanted a guitar that, let's face it, looks good. The tri-color on this model is awesome! And it has a fairly thick gloss finish that gives the guitar more durability and less susceptibility to environmental changes. A few closing thoughts: This guitar came with a great action. I didn't have to tweak the neck or anything. It looks wonderful. It's comfortable to play. It sounds great. I didn't care for the factory strings however, so I changed them out. For the cost of this guitar, Ibanez gives a great "bang for the buck." And I caught it on a good enough sale that I can afford to get a hard case for it. A great guitar for me – personally.

Comments about Ibanez AEW51 Exotic Wood Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I go down too the music store to buy some Picks, after which I try a few acoustic guitars, most of which didn't impress me, but then I try the Ibanez on offer. The Yamaha and Ibanez impressed me with the balanced tone and strong volume, but I already had a Yamaha so the Ibanez got my attention. They were all good value but I went for this one because of its Solid wood construction (potentially better trade in Value or investment gain), easier playing neck and amazingly appealing looks. Sure it's narrower body detracted a little from the volume, but this guitar has a amp powered pickup of which I'm testing out now as I write this. So far so good in clear replication of the very well balanced tone that this guitar puts out acoustically and electrically. The set up is not to bad for a factory setting, but of course I'm going to run it thru a Luthier for improvement, when the next set of strings are due. The composite Rosewood/Spalted Maple/ Walnut, Back and sides has a pleasant effect turning the warmth of the Maple down a little and bringing thru the sweeter maple and walnut overtones. Love the Graphex nut and saddle. Wondering about Ebony wood string plug updates. Its definitely a Unique harmonic entity that sets this guitar apart from the crowds of conventional sounds. Well Done Ibanez. Lets see some more of these Cutting Edge innovations.
