I bought this guitar because i got it cheap and i wanted humbuckers. i thought it would just be one of those cheap Asian guitars: but was surprised that this guitar is comparable to many american guitars i have played. I dont really know anything about this guitar but i do know that it sounds awesome! i haven't found any on eBay or a similar but i would recommend purchasing this guitar if you can find one.
Has beautiful finish and tail piece. The 58's sound awesome with a really warm tone. Nice sustain clean or distorted. Easy to play, feels good and real solid guitar. Upgraded knobs to Sure Grip for classic look. Really happy with this guitar. Very good quality by Ibanez.
This guitar is beautiful to the eyes and the ears! The picture in the advertisement does not do this baby justice. The double cut-away lets you reach all the upper frets with incredible ease. The action is really nice, the tones are warm, and the sustain is incredible. I've played mine in several live venues now, and it is a joy to play. Worth every penny.
The Ibanez Artist is a dream, I have a 1977 Artist. They have goodlow action and playability. Sustain and tone. Fast necks. Originals made in Japan, now everthing is China. I don't play the 77 anymore so I'm getting this AR305. The smooth chocolate brown skin has all the right curves. It can whisper with harmonics or open up and moan with the bends. Slap the strings and itt just always screams for more. The Artist series is a good guitar.
I have owned an Ibanez Artist model 2618 since 1977. Been playing for 46 yrs and I can tell you this. Stop looking for the next guitar, cause here it is. Mahogany body, great neck for playing and for slide. Mine has 24 frets with an ebony fingerboard, same kinda finish. I haven't stopped loving mine after 31 yrs. Playing it thru a plexi Marshall, and many other amps I can tell you this, Les pauls dont sound as good. GREAT PICKUPS on these puppies.....mean that, great pups. awesome sustain...my old one has the 'flying fingers pickups' but after all these yrs, no problems, no complaints...I would buy one of these so I dont wear out my 2618 in a new york second......order one right now....you will thank me!
