The return of a legend.
The Artist is back. Anyone who knows their guitar history will tell you: Ibanez spent much of the 1970s in the role of the prodigious student, building copies of the classics that ultimately exceeded the quality of the originals. Theyd proven themselves quite capable, but would they ever make their own distinctive contribution to the guitar pantheon? The Artist was the first original Ibanez design to prove Ibanez was hell-bent on standing shoulder to shoulder with the industrys giants.
Like the classics of yesteryear, the AR720FMs mahogany body features the first-of-its-kind symmetrical double-cutaway and Abalone body binding that gracefully outlines its exquisite flamed maple top. Arguably, it is the biggest leap forward Ibanez made 40 years ago that will be most appreciated by todays player: the Tri-Sound switching systema unique pickup configuration control that pack this axe with a rich tonal palette. No matter what the setting, the 720s Super 80 Flying Finger pickups deliver smooth, warm, vintage sound that make this Artist a must for fans of classic rock tone.
The 3-piece maple set-in neck features old school Pearl/Abalone block inlays, and is expertly joined to the body, finished with a baby-smooth heel. The AR720FM is the true path back to one of rocks most dynamic chapters. Hardshell case included.

Comments about Ibanez AR720FM Artist Expressionist Series Electric Guitar:
I was impressed by the workmanship in this guitar. Right out of the box, this guitar was setup nicely (although I did adjust the string height to my desired level). The guitar was intonated and ready to play right out of the shipping container. I have many high-end American guitars. This guitar is worthy to be in my collection. The looks of this guitar are stunning; very ornate. The Aged Whiskey burst finish is very nice. The abalone work on this guitar is superb. The neck is a little thinner than I would like but easy enough to play. The Super 80 pickups have nice tone in full humbucking mode. The single coil mode sounds thinner obviously. It does not sounnd like a Strat or Tele. I didn't buy the guitar for that. I am looking for more of a PRS/Gibson sounding guitar. I like the rich sweet tone of a humbucking pickup. So far I played it once live in a club through a Fender Blues Jr; it sounded pretty nice. It cut through the mix with a singing sweet tone. For the money, I would say you get good value. I'm impressed with this high-end Chinese Artist. There seems to be a lot of quality and craftsmanship in this particular model.
