I've always been an Epiphone guy. But after playing a demo of the AFJ-85 at a local music store, I decided to order one for myself. My guy did a setup on it and it plays AMAZINGLY WELL! Great feel to the neck, and (despite some purists opinions) I so far really like the ceramic pickups when paired with my Hot Rod Deville amp. There is some serious tone with this guitar. I've used her on a few gigs since getting her last week and she kicks some major butt.
HIGHLY recommend this guitar to working musicians who can't afford a $10,000 jazzbox. This thing is amazing and I'm in LOVE!

This is a very nice budget archtop. very well made. Acoustically much better than expected. The 15 inch body was unexpected but comfy. The neck great. Overall very nice but the pickups sound a little muddy. Why don't they figure out how to make good pickups so we can skip the extra step of replacing them. It's such a cliche. For the money it sounds great and sounds better when you play with an actual band. I used a polytone mini brute 2 and was happy with it. I compared it to a 175 and an L5, it lost the race but I don't think it's supposed ot compete with those guitars. However the Gibsons are retarded over priced and lose when price is factored in. The Gibsons play and sound better. But this guitar is much more practical since you don't have to worry about messing up a 6000 dollar guitar. That peace of mind does wonders for you playing. I am going to replace the neck pickup eventually. I will say it beats the Epiphone archtops. I wish they'd spend as much time on the pickups as they do the finish then this would be perfect.
two humbuckers , laminate spruce top, maple back sides. Basic jazz guitar. 15 inch body. comes with rosewood and tunomatic bridge, nice touch.
finish, binding, and all cosmetic features are on par with the best guitars. a very striking guitar .looks as good as a Gibson.
for the money you don't feel cheated like you do with the high end jazz guitars.

i have to say this is a very good sounding guitar i always wanted a ibanez artcore but
they have those sound blocks which takes away from the sound.it has a rich tone
like the george benson and clean like norman harris(philly international records) guitar.
