OVERVIEW

Premium looks with powerful sonics.

The Artcore AG75 has a large full hollowbody that is truly full-hollow. Unlike many so-called "full acoustics" which feature soundblocks in the body, the AG75 gives you the rich, complex tones you can only get from a true, full-hollow guitar. The mahogany neck with bound rosewood fretboard plays fast and easy. An ACH1 neck humbucker and ACH2 at the bridge dish up plenty of midrange punch.

Case sold separately.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

I'm not sure why guys who don't play jazz buy jazz boxes and then complain how they're not versatile. The AG75 is a small bodied jazz guitar, period. It's got a block inside to cut down some feedback issues. Whatever. It's a decent guitar. Cuts though in a big room. Has a nice clean sound. Is small so standing all night playing changes isn't a chore. Mainly I like it because it can be replaced fairly easily. Anybody who's ever played a real world jazz gig knows how easily things get knocked over or swiped. And sometimes I like to put the axe in the trunk and have a beer. This guitar makes that possible. Try shoving you solid top Eastman in the trunk in January in the Midwest. As for the pickups and all that unless it's a tele I sound the same on everything. Like I said I play jazz my sound is a done deal. Yes the pickups are cheapish. But they sound like the same ones in the 70's Ibanez 2355, the Gibson ES 175 copy. This guitar is a great back up as well. Listen I've got a Gibson ES 175 and I love it but the truth is every time I check it at the airport I worry. The thing cost a grip and it isn't even a vintage model. Also the way boxes are made nowdays these cheap Chinese models are solid players. Somebody in the reviews said get to know a luthier/guitar tech. He's right. Almost any problem with a new guitar can be solved and solved cheaply. But I know nobody's doing that. Everybody changing pickups and necks and all kinds of stupid stuff. Like I said before why buy a jazz box if you don't play jazz. And if you just bought one because of how it looks hang it on your wall. It will make cheap, hip art.

This is not a bad guitar. No, it will not replace an Es-135 or 175. But if you want a good cheap guitar and are willing to put 12 flatwound fix the nut and the bridge and replace those cheap pick-ups then you will have a decent guitar or buy a Blemished washburn or Epi or Dean. I like Ibanez but not the cheap feel for their semi-hollows... sorry.

I love this guitar

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

First of I want to address some of the bad reviews this guitar has been given. If you are getting feed back stop treating this guitar like a Les Paul. It is not. This guitar is a Jazz guitar, yes you can use it for some styles of rock and blues but the hollow body will give feed back when played at high levels with lots of distortion. This guitar is not designed for that kind of playing. Second is the bridge, there are some comments on here about the bridge moving. That is the point to this guitar, it is an arch top hollow body guitar with a floating bridge. I wish people would learn more about instruments before they start bashing them.

This guitar is made in China and as such carries a price a fraction of the cost of a Gibson. If you are like me and want wonderful playing guitars but can't spend 10's of thousands obtaining different styles of guitars made by the two big American makers then buy Ibanez. This is a quality guitar. I own 2 vintage Ibanez guitars both made in Japan and 3 modern ones made in other plants in Asia I love these guitars. When some other player rolls his eyes because I don't have a Gibson or Fender I just laugh and ask him how much debt he has because I own a lot of guitar and don't ow any debt on them.

On last comment, if you don't know a guitar tech on first name bases you should. Most guitars need a little work right out of the box and if they don't they will eventually. Many amatures pick up a guitar and if it buzzes or has too high of an action they think it is a piece of junk. Guitars change with temprature and humidity and it is very common to have a guitar adjusted from time to time. If you buy a guitar on line from mf and it doesn't play well don't blame the guitar, or manufactor. Take it to your guitar tech and have it set up properly.
I picked up my AG75 about 5 years ago. I felt guilty for getting such a good deal.

The neck is great and easy to play. I have had no problems with buzz or intonation and the pickups sound amazing.
I have had mine for 5 years now and have had no problems with the quality and workmanship of the guitar.
I actually paid less for mine 5 years ago but this guitar is a killer price for what you get.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

I'll all the other reviewers say their say about sound and playability etc. I want to clarify the difference between this model and the AF series. The AF series is the full size hollow-body in maple with maple top. This AG series is a smaller body in every dimension but otherwise the same as the AF series. An "S" anywhere in Ibanez's naming system denotes a thinner body depth with a center block.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

This is a guitar for MEN. Chill-en' go play yu SG, dis ain't for yu!I play Blues and It'll give you a great Old Skoo Southern Blues sound, or West coast style Jazz-Blues. Western Swing too, and I'm sure you can get your Jazz sounds out of it with flat-wounds, but the pickups are bright. It sounds best played clear to moderate overdrive. The A string gets a lot of resonance that you can make great use of. You can get all kinds of great sounds with the pickups, it can change your musical direction.Heavy overdrive does not suite it, and it'll resonate too much and feedback. You should use a semi or solid body for that, they do a much better job with overdrive. This guitar is small bodied only 14.5" across and 2.75" deep.It has deep baritone voice, deeper than a semi-hollow.The ceramic pickups that give a bright sound, much brighter than an alnico. The body feels strong, it's got 2 thick braces running lengthwise, double binding, MOP inlay and has very high build/design quality.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

I am impressed considering the cost.
I usually plan to change the neck pickup when I buy a guitar of this origin, but I am satisfied with these pickups as installed.
I have owned many archtop guitars and have a Gibson and a Gretsch also at this time.
I like the small body size and the hardware seems to work well and looks nice.
Fit and Finish are very good. I did setup to my liking and it plays very nice.
Frets were good. Bridge and nut fret were good although I made minor adjustments to them.
Great bang for the buck. a bound neck that looks very nice.
      Paint finish looks great

I've always wanted one of these beautiful guitars and I'm super happy I finally added this to my collection.
It's perfect for just noodling on while watching tv, unplugged.
I play acoustic normally and this guitar gives me an acoustic feel with electric versatility. I love how expressive you can be using this hollow body. It's really a lot of fun to play.
The guitar was great right out of the box. The action and intonation are really pretty good. I don't anticipate needing a professional set up.it stays in tune pretty well now, I haven't changed the strings yet or rocked out through an amplifier but I know she is going to be awesome .
This little honey is my favorite so far.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

I think this guitar is great. Great tone. Easy to play. Well built, but then again I've only had it for a couple of weeks.
I like the features, especially being able to play it unplugged. It is still not as loud as a regular acoustic, but I didn't expect it to be, but it is loud enough for me. I love the sound both plugged in and unplugged. The neck is very comfortable, not too thin, not too thick. I've got guitars with a thicker neck and thinner necks. This one is good.
It seems to be built pretty well. I liked the way it was set up from the factory. The action is nice and low, the way I like it. Intonation was good. My only concern is that foam padding that is under the bridge. I don't think it can be removed without messing up the intonation.
        Great value for the price!

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

Thank you to this site for this Ibanez guitar. I have been playing professionally for 30 years. That being said, I know guitars. I endorsed Gibson guitars for 11 years and have had 11 consecutive number one national records in my musical career. Solid body guitars are made for playing loud music like rock, grunge and other meaningless noise. A good Stratocaster does have it's place in today's music.Arch top Hollow body guitars are made to be played with a clean tone, that means no distortion. If you buy this guitar to play with distortion, you made a bad choice. If you still buy this guitar after reading this review to play rock and other assorted meaningless distorded noise then you must be a moron. Put in the name Steve Laury in the google search box to see my many awards and extensive discography.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

I play only 50s-type jazz. My AG75 plays easily, has a nice woody tone, and is easy on the eyes. I like the depth of the body too, about twice as deep as an ES335, but not quite as deep as a 175. For the money it's unbeatable. I think it might benefit from an upgrading of the pots and pups but it's also fine, and fun, as is.

I just bought this guitar, and it is great! It needs some minor adjustments such as removing the pick guard which is a preference, but just looks nice. It is a little wide and hard to get your arm around at first, but you get used to it. Plays well without an amp, and you only need an amp if you are playing really loud. There is no feedback, and it sounds pretty good with distortion.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar in today, and in my opinion I am absolutely stunned by the sound and natural feel of it. I can't put it down and I suggest it to everyone! The thin neck makes it really easy to play and fun, the humbuckers are very traditional/standard and really aren't anything special if you've played with them before. When bending notes, on first receiving the guitar, it feels a little odd but I assume will feel better with age. Overall this is an amazing price for a superior guitar. I love it with all my heart and soul.

I bought this guitar in a pawn shop for a great price. Mint condition. Honestly I had no intention of keeping it. I don't normally go in for archtops but I figured it would be nice to have a jazz box on hand.

I love the way it plays and sounds. Great tonal options. Excellent craftsmanship.

My only beef is the design of the tailpiece. The sharp corner on the front is very uncomfortable. I find it annoying when my hand bumps into it. I can get used to it, but if I had any say on the design, the corners would be rounded off.

Great guitar otherwise. Hard to go wrong with Ibanez.

          Jazz Tone on a Budget

          See all my reviews

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AG75 Electric Guitar:

I've had my AG75 for about a month and can say that I've already "bonded" with it. It has a nice, "easy" neck that was set up well at the factory. I put some Flat-Chrome 11's on it and it's got a really nice creamy jazz tone. I think 12's or 13's would be better. It doesn't feedback much with the stock pickups which are great once you adjust the string levels for balance. Replacing the stock Pups with rock Pups would probably be a mistake and would emphasize the hollowbody resonance causing feedback. The guitar has an "authoritive voice" which is pretty impressive. It has a much rounder tone than the thin Ibanez hollowbodies. I absolutely enjoy the guitar. Next purchase will be a Spruce Top with a wooden bridge although, maybe not, the AG75 has a really fine mellow jazz sound. It's very pretty - Nice Guitar.

I am totally satisfied with this instrument and love playing it. It has a certain style of its own and suits me just fine. May not be the guitar that experienced musicians are looking for, but for my money it is plays like a dream. Some reviews talk about a cheap feel to it.. May be the case, but the sound will win any guitar player over. Jazz, rock, classical, country.. this baby can do it all. No matter what your experience level is, give it a try. Promise you won't be disappointed.
