    Tone to burn—style to spare.

Just slightly smaller and slimmer than most other hollowbodies (2-3/4" thick), it still generates thick tone from a pair of ACH humbuckers. Exotic bubinga top is accented by thick retro binding on the body, pickguard, and neck. The mahogany Artcore DX neck is smooth, fast, warm, and topped with a rosewood fingerboard.
22 large frets make it easy to play.

    Features
    • Bound figured bubinga body
    • Mahogany Artcore DX neck
    • Rosewood fingerboard w/binding
    • 22 large frets
    • Chrome hardware
    • ACH humbuckers
    • ART-1 bridge

This is one lean, mean, music machine. Have one rushed to your front door today!

It's really a good price for what you get. But beware the moveable bridge if you try to change strings - you'll have to reset the intonation if you try to change all your strings at once. Also - swap the crappy strings that come with it; .010 roundwounds don't cut it; put on at least .011-.050 flatwounds for jazzy tones (preferably at least .012 if you can take it) and .011+ roundwounds with a wound 3rd string for a bluesy tone.the neck is set up relatively nice - frets aren't as polished as i'd like, and the fretboard wood is pretty raw looking, not as polished as the fretboard on my Ibanez AX320 - but it's a very even consistent fretboard, more so than my AX320, no buzzing even with fairly low action and .011 strings on it. Frets are a little low, though, so if you're used to extra jumbo tall frets from shred guitars, you may have a hard time adjusting to small frets.oh yeah and the guitar is gorgeous. Not as pretty sizewise as the larger artcores, but i chose it because it's a little smaller and thinner (and hence better about feedback). I picked it up and saw the musical director of the play i'm in the pit for - in his words, the ad for the show should just be a picture of this guitar with the caption "come see The Pajama Game and you can see this guitar."Only cosmetic issue i have is that the chrome hardware looks a little cheap. I'm usually not a fan of gold hardware, but the chrome they used isn't polished very evenly and so appears almost plasticky.oh yeah and the price? so sweet.

    way to go Ibanez

    By Bwhitty

    from Pleasant Grove, Utah

I've owned this for about a month and love it. Aside from the looks, it plays like a dream and with distortion even better. The wood finish is amazing and overall look is gorgeous. Easy to play and great tone variety. Looks and plays like I paid a lot more!

    this is unbelieveable.....

i got this guitar a couple of months ago from guitar center. i was looking for a guitar to play jazz w/. i have a 93' strat that i love but couldnt use for the jazz esemble at my high school. So i researched and fell upon the artcore series by ibanez. they sounded like a good buy and the reviews sounded pretty good. If i had the money, i would've defenitly bought an Es-335, but no highschool kid has 3 grand in their pocket. So i decided on this and let me tell ya, it was the best descision i ever made. sounds unbeliveable for the price. and compares to higher priced jazz boxes. it rarely feedbacks and both pickups sound great. great for jazz of course and anything else really. overall, if ur not rich for the gibson. i recomend the artcore ag85.

A beautiful and well playing guitar...Compared to the Epiphone Dot or even the classic Es335, this guitar is a no-brainer! Amazing clean tones, sounds great distorted too...You get MUCH more than what you pay for...

    Great for my ears!

    By Anonymous

This guitar sounds smooth and rounded, great for my ears!I had played since '84 with various guitars: Ibanez (RG550 w/ Floyd Rose), Fender (American Strat), and a Squire (w/ Floyd Rose series). I decided for a sond that I really like to play, and that guitar fit perfect. Except for a feedback with hi gain drive (of corse) it's the best guitar that I've played.

    Great

This guitar has that patented Ibenez Gorgeous finishes. It plays very smooth up and down the neck. Excellent blues tone perfect if you have a nice clean amp to play it through. I would highly recommend it over all the other Artcores including the 105?s. The for the money you wont get better. Only nocks are the cable output comes loose and on few that I have seen the wires are visible through the f-holes mostly on the 75?s. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking about a semi hollow or hollow. Great price great sound you can ask for more.

    What a great guitar

    By Char

I am a woman and have been playing for sometime. I have been very interested in a hollowbody and have been looking for sometime. I saw the AG85 and fell in love with it. It's a little smaller than the regular hollowbody guitars and it fits me well. The sound and the look of this guitar are both gorgeous. There is no feedback when playing with distortion. Great to just sit down with and pickup to play without plugging in.The picture of this guitar does not do it justice. The finish is absolutely beautiful. I have nothing but good things to say about this guitar and I would certainly buy another one just like it. If you are interested in a hollowbody, try the AG85 before you buy.

    Wife threatens to leave

    By MiceTros

    from Portland, OR

After I purchased this guitar, and wanted to sleep with it instead of my wife, she threatened to leave. It is about as beautiful as any man-made thing can get. Plays sweetly, doesn't talk back, tone controls offer great variability, and it plays anything from jazz to classic rock. Buy it before they do decide to price it for what it's worth.

This is the best guitar in its price range by far. The quality is outstanding, and the tone is fantastic. This guitar rivals much higher priced guitars in both sound, ease of play, and finish quality.
