The figured bubinga AG95 guitar is crafted with a 3-piece maple/mahogany neck for additional stability and strength. Super 58 pickups deliver the smooth, nuanced tones and the biting growl of blues.

My AG95 arrived yesterday. Here's my review:

First, the look of the instrument…..every bit as nice and beautiful as the photos I had seen online. I was a little concerned because the type of wood (bubinga) varies from piece to piece. I was very pleased with the wood grain and the finish. The pickguard reflects the bubinga grain for a very nice touch.

Second, a little disappointment with the tailpiece. Every photo that I had seen showed the guitar with what appeared to be a wood or wood insert tailpiece. In my photos, you can see that it is an all metal wire-type tailpiece. I got over that pretty quickly when I began to play it.

Another change that, I think was positive is that the pickups are now seated in black plastic instead of white. This was one of the troubling things that I had with the images that I had seen online. The seats are partially covered by the pickguard giving it an unusal look in white. The black seats blend right in with the finsh...hardly noticeable at all.

Initially, I was disappointed with the sound through my Fender (evil) Twin. It was harsh …no warmth. It played very well, though. As good as any instrument that I have owned in my 50 years of playing. Once the small strip of thin packing foam between the wood bridge and the body was removed, suddenly the warmth and roundness of tone were apparent.

Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. It did and will inspire me!

I was disappointed with the amount of work / setup needed. Upper neck had twist and fret work above the twelve fret was was very poor. Strings were buried in the nut. Bridge needed leveling. This guitar needed a lot more QC to be offered to the general public. After the repair and set up the guitar plays fine . At the sale price the guitar is sill a bargain.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AG95 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I bought the AG95 from MF about two months ago and like it a lot. I have over a dozen guitars but this is my first hollow body. My cousin (who doesn't play) remarked how classy it looks (next to a GLP Studio and Martin acoustic). I closely inspected it for manufacturing/production flaws, but found none. The binding and finish are clean, even, and neat. The neck seems to be straight and the frets (and ends) are smooth. The neck feels like it is between a (2014) Gibson LP Studio and Traditional with very low action. It also stays in tune well.

I did make some adjustments to my taste. I lowered both pickups as they seemed nearer the strings than I would like and raised the bridge height a little. This had no apparent affect on its easy playability, but did seem to lessen the output. It now produces very nice clean tones through a small Marshall amp with a little bit of "quack" with the volume knobs at 9/10. The tone can also be easily altered via the pick up selector and tone knobs.

This is a very beautiful guitar with the gold hardware against the dark bubinga. I was torn between this and the FM and QM versions. All my research indicated Super 58 pick ups on this one and Super 58 Customs on the FM and QM versions. I can't verify if this is so, but whichever it is - they sound very nice. A word of caution - there is packing foam under the floating bridge. I loosened the strings a little until I could remove the foam without moving the bridge.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AG95 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar a few years ago and simply could not get it to stay in tune. I took it back and M6000 said there was nothing wrong with it. I decided to just put it away rather than fight with the music store. I have been playing electric for a few years now and took it back out of the case, new strings etc. I stretched the strings and continue to have problems with it staying in tune. I do not have these problems with my Strat or Les Paul.

After ordering 3 electric guitars that had minor problems, I bought this beautiful guitar and it is incredible. The sound and feel of this guitar is truly a piece of artwork. If you are undecided, don't hesitate and buy one before they discontinue this model.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AG95 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Very nice right out of the box. The finish and set up perfect. The more it's played the more it gets set. The tone is awesome and it plays like butter. I own 13 stringed instruments and this Ibanez is one of the best. I was hoping the one sent to me would have the steel trapeze and black pickup rings...yay! I have another jazz box that I have been upgrading with quality hardware but, it can't hold a candle to this guitar. I love it! Any guitar needs to get used to the environment and adjust to humidity, temperature etc. After being played awhile a string change and new set up does wonders. Play on I say.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AG95 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about four months now and I love it as much as the day I got it. It's a dream to play and it sounds great whether you're playing soft jazz or crank up the distortion for some mean rock and roll. It's held up perfectly for as hard as I play it. Honestly, it feels like playing a 2,000+ Gibson or something. Well worth the money, not to mention I feel like a stud playing this gorgeous piece of work. I would highly recommend buying this guitar.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AG95 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Bought the AG95 to play while camping. I needed a guitar with a sound box and an electric neck that I could play without being plugged in. This fits the bill without breaking the bank. I,m used to playing rides (bending strings etc.) and an acoustic is a bit difficult for this. This AG95 fits the bill. MusiciansFriend stated the guitar was in condition 2 - I found it actually to be in excellent condition.
