A warm-sounding and versatile beauty.

For a decade now, Ibanez has energized the hollow-body segment with a wide range of designs-from rockin' hybrids to straight-up jazz-boxes. Built with tone woods selected for their beauty as well as their musicality, the Expressionist line covers the wide range of styles for which Ibanez hollow and semi-hollow bodies are known.

The AM93 features a Quilted Maple; clean, handsome white binding on body, headstock, and fingerboard; and expertly crafted set-in neck construction to ensure body liveliness. The fingerboard is rich Rosewood contrasted by Pearl block inlays, set to a 3-piece Mahogany/ Maple set-in neck that has proven its reliability on thousands of Ibanez hollow and semi-hollow bodies throughout the years. Jazz fans will recognize the original Ibanez Super 58 custom pickups-the preferred pickup of George Benson, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield, in their own Signature models -equally at home in a variety of genres. Warm, balanced articulation and excellent response characterize the Super 58s.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AM93 Semi-Hollow Left Handed Electric Guitar:

There are so few good choices for left-handed players. This is just a bit smaller than the Artcore AS-73 so it fits like the Les Paul Standard. Lighter than the Les Paul with a very robust sustain. You can spend more but why. This is a wonderful player that just feels good to hold. Finish on the neck is smooth and perfect. It did need a few adjustments but came almost ready to play out of the box. No regrets with this model!

Comments about Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AM93 Semi-Hollow Left Handed Electric Guitar:

I have been searching for a semi-hollow body guitar for years. Being left-handed, these are a rare find, and when I have come across them in stores, they are entry-model guitars. I know the frustration of being a lefty and a consumer! So we have to take certain risks as we buy guitars. Research told me that the risk was minimal when it comes to Ibanez, semi-hollows by Ibanez, and looking at the specs for this instrument.

All that being said, the guitar is a blast to play. Great feel in my hands, great weight and ballance while playing. The pick-ups are hot, super 58s living up to their name! I have taken the guitar to rehearse with my band 3 times now, and as I get more used to it, the sounds and versatility continue to amaze.

At first I thought the body was smaller than it truly is... it seemed pretty compact in the images, and it is, really. I compared it to the Gibson models out there and find it is pretty close match to the Gibson 339. It is smaller and more narrow than the 335, which is what I wanted. It is just 1.5 inches wider than my Les Paul, and pretty much follows the Gibson ratio for frets.

My band mates say it fits right in the pocket perfectly voiced between my Les Paul and my Telecaster. I had looked for a semi-hollow closer to the size of the Tele, but was not convinced such a guitar would be as versatile, and might be too much alike to my Tele or Paul. Whatever the case, I would never know because they don't keep those guitars on the shelves/walls at my local guitar store.

I bought it online with confidence of knowing return policies would cover me if I were disappointed. I am not disappointed, I am psyched! I have had a few moments of feedback, but easily controlled for, and mostly I believe because I was standing too close to my amp in the crowded rehearsal space set up we use.

FYI, you will want the get the Ibanez AM100 hard shell case for a nice snug fit and durable protection.
