This is my first electric guitar (although I've been playing bass and guitar for 25 years). What an amazing value! I bought the Gold-top, and it is a top-flight axe, very well built, and it came out of the box set up and ready to play. The action is very nice (low, but not super low) and the intonation etc. are perfect. The neck is very comfortable, and the guitar is solid but not so heavy that you couldn't play long gigs comfortably. The finish is very very nice (I found one or two almost imperceptible rough spots, but I had to look pretty hard to find them. The pickups are very nice, fat low end with a nice, screaming high end and solid mids. Bottom line: This plays and sounds like a guitar costing several times as much. Snap this one up before it's gone.

The Ibanez AR 200 is an appealing guitar with nice workmanship. The neck is straight and the finish is well done. The price is quite attractive and almost worth the money.I found the pickups to be quite shrill and bright and no matter what I did it was never enough to make them sound full and sweet. I replaced them with Seymour Duncan's which helped a bit but still I cannot get a solid fat sound out of this guitar. There is not much sustain in there upper register and no harmonics. The best advice is save up for a Gibson and don't waste your time on this thing.

A very good Guitar

By Roll

I really like the sound I get from this guitar. The tones are just so warm and awesome. The finish is superb, the tension's just right and the feel is absolutely great. It toally fits my style of play. Ibanez scored a 3-run homer in this one.

Very Good Buy

By Halex

from Cedar Rapids, IA

I bought this guitar about a year ago. I was looking at the usual Gibson Les Paul/SG buy, but after I played this I realized it was a much better buy. It has a very similar feel to the expensive competitors. I love it so much. The only thing I don't like is the little notch/groove thing at the end of the neck, but it's easy to get used to and I don't notice it anymore. The large frets give it a more acoustic feel...which I like better. Consider this.

I bought this because I wanted a set neck, les paul double cut-a-way style guitar... I could not believe the quality and playability... And the tone and sound is awesome. To heck with the OVER PRICED alternitive... I'm getting anotherone for a back up! Just BUY it! I don't think you will be disappointed...

Solid Sustain!

By Ace-Se2gf

from somewhere on the road

I owned one of the original Artist guitars from the 70's. Excellent instrument as far as playability, harmonic quality and tone. After I replaced the original pickups with Seymours and got decent tuning keys it was an absolute monster. Besides the fact that it looked great its sound was unique and everybody wanted to play it. If the newer versions are anywhere close to the originals it is a magnificent deal. You can't go wrong, even if you have to replace the pickups and tuners. The finish on the hardware will likely wear away as well, but who cares. The sound is what you are after.

Awesome Axe!

By MakDragon

from N.E. Penna

I had my first Ibanez back in 1977. A pre lawsuit les paul custom. I still have it and play it often. Bought the artist 200 to carry when i needed to travel. Love it so much now that it is my favorite axe! Love this thing!

Classic Guitar.

This guitar is well crafted. It's a Les Paul derivative with its own personality. It took some time to set up, but that's common with most guitars. There's no fret buzz. The pick-ups are hot. The tone is rich.I'm impressed with its versatility and value!

A Keeper

The Ar200 is AWESOME, right out the box only 2 strings were out of tune, hooked this thing up to my black box and played non stop for about 6 hrs, no kidding, the action on this was set set perfect very easy on the fingers the pickups are hot, and the sound is exactly what I was looking for in a guitar. I have owned a couple of the rivals in the past, and this can hold it's own. It stays in tune with the factory strings and they have a very nice tone. A great price and I am very satisfied, thanks MF.
