Incredible sound, looks, and low price.
The resonant dark violin low-gloss finish and Engelmann spruce top give the Ibanez AW120 Acoustic Guitar the tone and resonance of a guitar costing much more. Mahogany back and sides, rosewood fretboard and bridge, and gold Grover tuners are among its outstanding appointments.

I'm a long time guitarist, and I've owned many guitars. As a tech, I've seen more guitars up close and personal than most folks will ever see. This Ibanez Artwood acoustic represents a much better value than a person could normally find. It takes me back to the 1970's, when Ibanez was really trying hard to compete with American instruments. The finish is a very dark satin, which folks really seem to like these days, but from the technical standpoint, this type of finish is much better for allowing the guitar to produce a great tone. Also, on a guitar in this price range, the first, major upgrade that a manufacturer could add would be a solid top--which this guitar has. The solid spruce top on this guitar is a really good one, and it is proven by the sound. I find the action on these to be a little high, but a good tech could lower the saddle somewhat, as I did on mine. The frets on a guitar in this price range don't tend to be perfectly level, though, so don't lower the saddle too much at first. I'm really happy with mine, and it records very well, too.

First off, the guitar is nothing like the pictures. It is a very dark, cheap stain job on the spruce top. Next, it DOES INDEED have a cheesy clear, scotch tape like pick-guard.Mine had a split in the wood; not a big deal but along with some other flaws, it should, at best, have been a second. Action needs work. Tone was good. It does have a "martin-like" tone. I'm sending mine back. I feel the five stars in other reviews are very misleading on this guitar.

This guitar was the best acoustic guitar purchase I have ever made. The sound impressed me. but when I put in some new strings, this baby was a whole new guitar. The only thing I had done was to lower the action a bit, but it wasn't absolutely necessary. This guitar will only get better with age,
I could not be any happier with a guitar. I have put this guitar up against some of the top brands in guitars, and I like it 10 times better. The saten finish gives a deep rich sound, which is awesome, and a great look. Good for anyone who wants a great guitar.
I had a yamaha for 7 years, until it got stolen, so for it took a while for me to find a guitar that could match up in tone and action. And then, on July 3rd, the day before a monster sized party, I find this beautiful guitar. I liked the way it played, the way it sounded, and the way it looked especially. I bought it, and the next day, at the 4th of July party, I played it in front of everyone. I got more compliments on the guitar than my playing! (I was ummm.. nervous? the sun was in my eyes?) anyway, whether you're just starting off, or you've been playing for a large chunk of your life, this is the guitar you need to buy. Stays in tune well, too!
This guitar is an awesome buy. It's got a nice tone and has a bit darker stain than in the picture. Feels, plays, and looks like a quality guitar for a very acceptable price. My only issue was the kind of disapointing pick guard. It's quite clear which is nice on a guitar like this, but mine isn't quite glued down all the way around the edges. Not really noticeable though. Go out and buy it, it plays as good as it looks.
I bought this Ibanez to use as a second guitar to my beloved ovation LX. What a surprise, the sound of this instrument is just great. I have played many good guitars that sound much less pleasing than this instrument. Great deal for this price range or even twice as much.
I bought this guitar four years ago and have loved it ever since. Ibanez has really impressed me with this guitar. It plays like Taylor or Martin at a fraction of the price. I thought that I had just gotten lucky and bought an fluke, but after reading the reviews I realized that this is just an all around awesome guitar. As for the bad reviews, they must have gotten a bad one. About a year after buying it I had a fishman pickup installed in it, and now I can plug it in and let it rip. It sounds awesome through a PA. Bottom line, if you are looking for Martin or Taylor sound/quality with less than half of a Martin or Taylor budget. . . BUY THIS GUITAR!
I wrote a very favorable review of this guitar. And I stick to it. The patently negative review I see on this sight is simply incorrect. Do not be fooled. If you order this guitar, set it up--true, it will not be a $3000 Martin. But it will be the best guitar for the money. Promise. And were it not for the insufficient bass response, it would be as good as a Martin. But then that's Martin gets paid for. They're a fine guitar. Every fool knows this.
I have been looking for a great guitar for a great price. I got this for my friend for christmas and when I recived it I couldn't not open it. It sounded awesome. I ordered mine today. Im really pleased. And for the price, it's worth it. Thanks Ibanez!
from a quality standpoint, this guitar cannot be beat by anthing I've tried under $***. even out of the box with no setup, not a single note on the neck buzzes. suprisingly high sustain, keeps in tune extremely well, looks great (although somewhat different than pictured). it's more like a dark brown sunburst finish and has a clear pickguard. I have no remorse from purchasing this awesome guitar. it looks like no other and sounds like anything that costs twice as much.
I'm an aspiring musician just starting to get back into the older music, this guitar sounds amazing, and the look of it is just amazing, a country reminiscent violin color just sets it off! The guitar does not come with a clear pickguard contrary to the review written. Sounds great looks great and great for the beginner, intermediate, and long time player, sweet guitar. I highly recommend it!
