OVERVIEW

A classic acoustic with modern embellishments for perfectly balanced craftsmanship and technology.

Embrace traditional and modern at the same time with the Ibanez AC300 Artwood Series acoustic guitar. Technology moves forward at a dizzying pace and the world of guitar craftsmanship is no different. In their search for the ultimate guitar tone Ibanez gave a modern twist to one of the traditional grand concert body.

The Ibanez AC300 Artwood Series acoustic guitar features a bone nut to deliver a well-balanced sound and a bone saddle on a distinctively contoured bridge. A descendant of the old orchestral acoustic guitars that were designed to be audible over large instrumental ensembles in the days before amplification, the Ibanez AC300 is great for playing with a group.

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AC300 Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

I have been looking for years for a road guitar and after three previous guitars I have found it. This is a beautiful, smaller guitar that on sale cannot be beat. It has a bright sound. It does not play nor sound as good as my 1963 Gibson but who would expect it to?

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AC300 Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

I know it's stupid to immediately start talking about the looks, but I can't get over the looks, it's an absolutely beautiful guitar. The tone is great. It feels great. The tuning machines are great. And when people say this thing stays in tune, they are not joking. I only need to tune this thing about once a week, if that, and I literally play this guitar about 6 hours a day. The bridge is on there really nicely, there is no cracks anywhere on the guitar, the frets are filed perfectly, and the frets are fairly small and not bulgy. Of course, it not being a dreadnought or jumbo sized guitar, it doesn't give off too much sound, so for playing a show, or busking or something like that, it wouldn't be my first choice, but it would definitely work. If you're jamming with somebody using a dreadnought, you'll hear yourself no problem, but if you're jamming with somebody using a jumbo sized guitar, the ibanez might not be able to be heard, I don't know yet. Mostly though, it's just a good guitar to have around the house. Something to casually strum on the porch or something, and also, this guitar looks, feels, sounds like, and is constructed like something you would see going for 7 or 800. Get it. Unless you are spoiled by gibsons, taylors, and martins and whatnot, I highly doubt you will regret it and even if you are spoiled by really nice guitars, it still feels and sounds like a really good guitar, because it is a good guitar.

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AC300 Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

During the last 40 years I've played a lot of acoustic guitars; I'm definitely qualified to judge an acoustic guitar. First of all we need to compare apples with apples. Don't compare the volume and tone of a smaller body concert guitar like this one to a Jumbo size guitar. If you're new to the world of acoustic guitars then you need to know that there are several body sizes. Starting with the largest body to the smallest, there are: Jumbo, Dreadnaught, Auditorium, Concert, Parlor, and Travel (3/4 size) guitars. And never compare the tone of a solid top to a laminate top guitar. Nor, should we compare the tone of a s300 guitar to a s3000, s1500, or even a s500 guitar. Manufacturers use higher grade woods for more expensive guitars. They use "A" grade solid top for s300 guitars, while they use "AAA"grade solid top for expensive guitars. Even if we compare the same body size, the "AAA" grade solid top produces a much prettier and more appealing tone than the "A" solid top guitar does.
So, having said all that, is the sound of this Ibanez AC300 as good as a Taylor, Martin, Gibson, or any other expensive guitar? Absolutely not! But it's a darn good guitar for s300 or even s350 . The craftsmanship to this guitar is superb. Cosmetically it's flawless, not a single imperfection anywhere, not even a very small one, I tried to look for one very closely but, I couldn't find any. The Cherry burst finish is beautiful and the top, sides and back all have a gloss finish, but, the burst neck has a satin finish.
The nut-width is 1.75", 1/16" wider than a standard nut-width. The slightly wider finger board makes finger picking easier but, it doesn't slow down strumming or lead playing. The scale (string length) is 24.9" in comparison to a standard 25.5". The shorter scale means less string tension and that means it's a bid easier and more comfortable on your fingers. The neck profile is just a tad thinner than a standard neck profile. Neck action out of the box is good. Grover tuning keys are very smooth and keep the strings in tune for a long time. The concert body itself is very comfortable to hold and produces the expected and acceptable volume of a concert size body. The top is a solid Engleman Spruce which is a bid more responsive to a softer touch than the more common Sitka Spruce. The sides and back are made from laminate Mahogany. This guitar is ideal for fingerpickers. Unfortunately, this guitar like most other acoustic guitars under s400 doesn't produces well-defined and boomy bass notes.
Even though I bought this guitar on a good sale for s200, I wouldn't mind paying s350 for it. This is an excellent guitar for the price and I'm very happy with my purchase. I bought a Musician's Gear deluxe gigbag made for a classical guitar and this Ibanes AC300 fits in it snugly.

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AC300 Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

This should've definitely been one of those "stupid deals." I've played for over 40 yrs. Owned Martins, Taylors, Gibsons, Ovations -you name it. To call this guitar a good deal for the money is an understatement. I still can't believe how good it sounds & plays every time I pick it up. A true testament to what modern technology can really do.
Not a $4000.00 Martin or Taylor -but will hold it's own with most any guitar costing 4 -5 times as much.

this is a nice little guitar here, right from the box the action was great, the craftmenship was great, even the strings that came with it were nice, the sound is pretty even across the board on the one i recieved, not the big booming sound of a dread but very nice and it gets out there even against our banjo and mandolin, its a smaller guitar than what im used to,but has a nice feel to it,even in a bluegrass setting it performed quite nice, the guitar has the feel and playability of a much more expensive instrument,it's my first ibanez acoustic, and for the price you cant go wrong,i will be looking into the more exotic models next as i am very pleased with the artwood model, what a gem these are

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AC300 Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

I don't do a lot of reviews but this is a ridulous value. I've been playing guitar since 1978 and I own over 20 of them including Les Pauls, SG, Firebird, 335, Strat, Tele and so on. I bought this on the SDOTD as a 'beach' guitar i.e. something to just mess around with and not worry too much about. This guitar out of the box was not only in perfect tune but the setup was about as good as I could have gotten it. The last Ovation I bought took several hours to get playable and still isn't set up this well. The strings that come with it are really nice DAddario EXP's. The tone, workmanship and playability are simply not to be believed at this price point. Is it a $4000 Taylor, of course not. Vintage hand craftsmanship is great but modern computerized precision manufacturing really has something to offer these days in the budget acoustic category. Martin could sell this guitar with their headstock on it for 800 no problem.
