Great guitar, recommend to anyone. I would give it a 10 but the whole pickup ordeal was a pain. But still, well worth the money.
Everything was perfect ASIDE from the pickups, the stock ones aren't bad by any means but I prefer EMGs. I ordered an EMG 707 and 81-7 and they were too big for the guitar! Woodwork was required to horizontaly lengthen the pickup cavity but once they were in they sounded great.
The nick is very nice, easy to play. A LITTLE thick, VERY LITTLE but in no way too much. The cutaway is nice for notes on the higher frets. Tuners are very smooth. VERY NICE white binding on the neck and body you can't see in the pictures online. Almost everything is 100% perfect.
The nicest 7-string I've ever played, tied with the Schecter Hellraiser C-7. Better than some guitars I've played for that are twice the price.

Well, let's start off with the positives. Neck feels incredibly great. it is a bit thicker then the rg series 7 strings. but it is not a completely devastating thing. The guitar has a nice solid feel. A feel I really don't get in my rg7321 but it is a lot heavier and can get tiring while playing. Now a complete down side is the pick-ups. They, well they suck. Id suggests switching them out for dimarzios. The stock one they get alot of feedback from basically everything. They have a twang and metallic din to them witch isn't bad to say. U can actually fet a few really nice tones with it. Kind of a tool mets korn effect. its not as noticeable while playing bar cords tho but while playing notes u notice it. Try to keep with passive pickups with this guitar because emgs will require u to drill A UNNEEDED hole in the body and since it's actually a good tone wood, id stay away from that. But if that's your thing and really love the sound of EMG active then by all means go for it. Mine has a bit of a fret buzz and it gets really annoying and i had to adjust my truss rod several times to get it right. Another feature i really enjoyed is the fact it is a not a floyd rose. I'm not a turmoil person so i love the les Paul and i love the fact it's a seven string lespaul style. Like any guitar play it awhile and make sure u like it. over all id give it a 7/8. its a good guitar for the price and i don't believe it will be made for a long production run due to lack of sales. so snach while can. i do recmond either this or the rg7. and be warned once you commite to a seven string and play them for a while you dont like a 6 anymore.

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

Great instrument. I use it for jazz, rock, fusion, funk... really anything and everything. I am mainly a six string player, and prefer the thick beefy neck instead of the super thin "shred guitar" necks. This guitar has a big fat les paul feelin' neck. Pickups are very bright, no mud. Plugged into my buddy's 100watt BritStack it got seriously heavy. Plugged into my ac15 also sounds great. Low b is extremely useful once you have it. Walking bass lines in jazz to super heavy "chugs" playin metal. Buy it!

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

ARZ 307 VS. PRS SE Cust 24 7 string, this thing wins. Most guitars will have a little buzz out of the box. You should always have a new guitar setup by an experienced tech. The pickups are perfect, no reason to cut into a precious piece of tonewood to add a battery. Stays in tune better than my vintage guild x 82 with a khaler locking bridge. I use 7 string power slinkys on this for heavy modern rock and they work perfect for standard B to E or drop to A. Make no mistake, for the price this really is a professional instrument. Plug her into a professional amp (I prefer 6505+) and you won't believe your ears.

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

This thing was almost set-up perfect out of the box. All i had to do was raise the action a tiny bit for my playing style. Intonation was spot on, no fret buzz unless played extremely hard. The pick-up through my Peavey Vypyr sound better than A dimarzio d-activator did in my cheaper Dean 7 string. They are pretty hot and have chunk, clarity and sustain. I'll probably replace them with Seymour Duncan Distortion/jazz combo just to make it even better, but it is awesome stock. Highly suggest for metal rhythm, riffing and lead work. I actually like the 10-59 d'adaddrios that came on it. the 25.25 inch scale is perfect for moderate tension in stdard or drop A tuning. this thing is a BEAST!

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

I made this purchase intending baritone setup, and I increased string gauge right away. Bass and baritone pickup sensitivity are excellent. Treble sensitivity is much less, but this isn't important to me. Neck and bridge setup need to be tweaked for different string selections, but it's easy to do and accurate. Neck tension adjustments are linear and predictable, and the fretting and intonation are spot-on. The overall sound is great, although it doesn't feel like the tone knob actually changes anything. Overall, I do really like this instrument. Excellent build quality for the price point, easily rivalling much more expensive instruments.

            Ibanez ARZ307!

            By Thrash of the Titans!

            from Mesa, Arizona

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

I would only add a tremolo bridge and maybe offer some other paint/finish options to this model. Other than that, this thing rips!
So right off the bat, I want to let you all know that I usually don't care for Ibanez guitars, whether it be 6, 7 or 8 string but this changed my mind. I'm usually not a fan of their thin necks and flat fretboards. I prefer a meatier neck and more rounded profile on the fretboard. I had been eyeing this one for a while because I am a sucker for Les Paulish shaped guitars and finally got a chance to play it for quite a while at the store and I was really impressed. I played it through an Egnater Vengeance half stack and a Line 6 Spider Valve MK2 to compare it against two different amps. First off, the finish is simple. Black with white binding but it is still incredibly nice. The neck was a little more round which I prefer and and it made the flat fretboard easier to play, atleast for my hands. The action was a little high on the treble strings but still had great sustain and tone. This guitar has great harmonics and a big beefy roar with great articulation thanks to the pickups which look like they may have been made by Dimarzio for Ibanez. I was able to let rip some really fast thrash galloping riffs, even on the low B the notes were tight, throaty, and articulate. The clean tones were great too. Nice, rounded out tones that were still bright and chimey at the same time. Soloing was a little bit of a fight because the action was higher than I prefer but that can easily be fixed with a setup after purchase. I made sure to show my wife and even she was impressed with its sound. I own many other guitars that are atleast twice as expensive as this and this can honestly hold it's own against them. I would make this my main 7 stringer once I obtain one. The only thing I would like to see be added to this would be a tremolo bridge. Once I get mine, I am gonna have a 7 string Kahler bridge fixed to the body. But all in all, this guitar rips and I would even leave the stock pickups in, which is something I usually don't do.
The finish was nice but it would be nice to see this model in different colors and finishes and maybe add a tremolo bridge for us whammy bar addicts.
This guitar is a fantastic player at an incredible price. It plays just as nice and sounds just as good as some of my more expensive guitars.

            Great machine for the price!

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

Overall? Buy ityou'll like it! It probably won't be a guitar you'll part with any time soon. The feel is solid and tone is great even with stock pups...the mahogany body gives some great warmth.
For a rating, I give it a 10 simply on the basis of the guitar's price range. It outclasses almost everything so far in its price range in terms of features, precision set-up metrics (neck, bridge adjustments), and esthetic quality.
I cannot detect any flaws in the craftsmanship of this instrument. The neck is straight as an arrow (with a good very slight bow) with no warpage or fret problems. The pickups are as expected and are hot enough to play rock/metal without the need for aftermarket replacements...though I have plans to sink a few EMG's in this guitar soon. For the price, I have ZERO complaints about this machine. Again, my 10 rating is based on the class of the instrument, not comparing to an Ibanez Jem or Universe...it's directly proportional to others in the price range.
More often than not, you get what you pay for. But, I have to say this is a sweet dealfar better than I expected for only paying 5 C's.

            Great Guitar regardless of price

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

            Great guitar
I just picked this up today after shopping all over town and playing at least 20 guitars. for the price nothing else came close sound wise. The pickups are great - i played the same 6 string guitar with EMG HZs and these sounded better to my ear. I'm not a 7 string player until now, i chose this over the 6 string with EMGs for the better pickups - if you can get past the fact that it doesnt say EMG or SeyDunc on there youll love the pickups. Great full clean tones and nice crunchy, cutting crunch. I will probably get someone to put in an inlay at the 12th fret.
Mine plays great, low action. some minisule fret buzz but ill get that out with a good setup. Everything on this guitar feels to be of quality - Highly recommended.
Ibanez is always a great value. a similar priced epiphone les paul style comes with lousy pups in my experience

Comments about Ibanez ARZ307 7-string Electric Guitar:

This guitar is for those of us who have been waiting for a LP-shaped 7 to come along, and man, was it ever worth the wait! From the roaring hot pickups that can go to warm and clean at the turn of a volume knob, to the set-neck construction and classy good looks, the ARZ307 is pure mahogany-bodied win. I noticed the huge resonance and sustain the moment I plugged it in, and it plays like butter! The neck is a bit thicker than your average Ibanez 7-string neck, but not too thick. All in all, it's the best 7 I have ever owned, and I will be playing this one for a long time to come!
