Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This guitar has a dark & beautiful clean & unclean sound, just the way I like it. I feel it is to IBANEZ as the LES PAUL is to GIBSON. I call her Christine, after the Stephen King movie. So demonic. My friend came by to check it out & said it's looking like it has horns & wanted to hear it right then. I did have to make some minor adjustments with the action & intonation. I love this guitar.

I stopped at this guitar.

Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar determined to replace my full-hollow Ibanez (which also sounds fantastic), as my new main guitar for both live performance and recording. This guitar immediately had me sold based on tone quality alone. I've been playing for ten years and it blew every other guitar I've touched out of the water. The playability and fingerboard comfort is top-notch, in my opinion, and the response from the (stock) pickups was punchy enough to make the cut, but, being a steadfast endorser in aftermarket pickups, I put in a DiMarzio Bluesbucker(b) and a PAF PRO(n), and the tone quality hit that sweet spot I was looking for. Also, the appearance of this guitar is as mean as its tone quality off the shelf. Totally worth the purchase.

Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

When I bought the guitar I also bought a set of Duncan's like I always do (for my six strings.. I get BK Painkillers or aftermaths for my 7 and 8 strings), but I didn't need them!!!! I plugged it in just to see... and wow.... The clarity, the crunch, the beef... cleans were amazing... I was stunned... I thought I may of been hearing it wrong. I called over my other guitarist and he too was in awe on how great this bargain semi-hallow sounded... I have no plans on changing the pickups. Its sounds amazing and looks great. Couldn't be happier.
Its got every thing you need. 3-way switch. Vol/Tone knobs for each pup. Stock ass tuners and machine heads that keep tunings.
I gave it a 9 because the input jack was loose and kind of a pain to tighten without snapping the ground wire.
Can't beat the price. Especially for this guitar.

Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

Exact same thing happened when I bought this guitar as when I bought my acoustic. Walked into the store with a higher budget and another brand in mind, walked out with an Ibanez spending much less than I was prepared to spend. This guitar just felt right, good action and the finish on the guitar is beautiful, and raw. The flat finish on the back of the neck makes for fast movement up and down the neck, very smooth. Great tone to the guitar brought out by the semi-hollow body. I have learned, Ibanez offers great guitars for less money, I have an acoustic and an electric to prove it. I coupled my purchase of this guitar with the purchase of a Digitech RP70 effects unit and there is little that this combo can't do. Very versatile.

i love this guitar so much. the pickups rule 9though you ight need to adjust them. the low E overpowers a bit) it's stout. i've been playing this one through a lil fender frontman 15w (saving for a 100w 2x12) and i must say it's awesome. hell if you do it right you can get one p/u to sound clean and the other dirty with the overdrive channel (good if you dont own any pedals) but overall for the price and quality this is 5's across the board.

Don't Let the Price Fool You!

Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I had been looking for a jazz box that could growl for a long time; this Ibanez fills the bill stunningly. Regardless of the price range you are looking in, do yourself a favor and check this out before you lay down the cash for something far more expensive. Apart from a little set-up work (the action was just a breath high) this thing is great from the start. I don't think anyone really expects this quality from the price point; or the place of origin for that matter. (I have to admit, in spite of my satisfaction with this Ibanez, I have a little bit of a bias toward the American guitars.) This guitar can move from a smooth jazz sound to some serious crunch without any difficulty. The pickups are quiet and cooperative. The tone controls actually work and the fit and finish are beautiful. I don't know why these things are not twice the price. This guitar can compete with all but the nicest 335s.The black may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the quality and sound are so good that it is tough to quibble at the flat black. As well, if you have a choice, play it through a real tube amp. You will notice the difference.Unless you are a total slave to a label, you have to look at these. Ibanez puts serious quality into these things. Most people will never guess how little you really paid. Easy to play, great to listen to, easy on the wallet.

Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar used for super cheap and completely love it. The pickups are quiet and clean and the action is great. The only time I need to tune it is when the weather changes. I adjusted the intonation myself and that was the only real adjusting it needed when I got it. The finish is a nice flat black, but I think I'm going to repaint over that. Overall, this is a great guitar for the price. It seems that the ArtCore line from Ibanez is extremely well done. I've played a few other ArtCore guitars and they were all great as well. Eventually I'd like to get the Ibanez AS93 with the transparent blue finish.

Comments about Ibanez AS73B Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar based on visual without even playing it. I've had it about 4-5 months. I'm playing it through an 80 watt Marshall 2-12 stereo chorus combo amp. This Ibanez AS73B has a very sweet tone @ the neck p/u as long as the volume pot is at "7" or less through the clean channel, switch to the dirty channel and take the volume pots to 10 and this guitar has Rock & Roll punch. The tone pots also have a wide range of tone on either of the p/u's. If you like smooth and creamy blues this guitar will do it!! If you like classic rock, it will do that too!! I changed the strings to classic rock pure nickle slinkys and adjusted the p/u height and set the intonation. Wow!! I can't believe this guitar is so inexpensive. Thanks, Ibanez! Oh yea, the cord jack worked loose the first day, tightened it. NO further issues.
