Previously, I had 6 or 7 beater guitars setting around my house.
I am so impressed with the overall quality of the Ibanez guitars that I now have, I have sold off most of the others.
My guitar collection now consists of the Ibanez AW3000CE (NT, WC), the Ibanez AW300CE, and the Taylor Big Baby.
By the way, I questioned the Model number when the guitar arrived. I had ordered the AW3000CENT and received the AW3000CEWC. The NT means "natural tone" and the WC is the guitar "with Case" since a very nice Gig Bag was included.
I'm a happy customer...
Features an under saddle pickup and endpin preamp. No fancy EQ, just a volume and tone adjustment. Also, no built in tuner.
Instead, Ibanez chose to invest in solid top, solid sides and solid back tonewoods.
Some folks say that it can take months or years for solid wood to "open up" and achieve the best sound.
Maybe so, but it sounds pretty darn good right out of the box and if I ever need to plug in, the L.R. Baggs pickup and preamp will make that easy.
If it improves over where it is now, boy am I going to be happy.
Also, reading the info on the electronics, it looks like adding a soundboard transducer would be a matter of mounting it and soldering a couple of leads to solder pads on the preamp
It sounds a tiny bit richer than my 2 year old Taylor Big Baby does now (the Taylor sounds great to have come with solid sitka spruce top and sapele laminate sides and back.)
So feature-wise (bells and whistles) it's pretty plain - except where it counts...
Great fit and finish.
Very light weight compared to laminate guitars.
Neck is smooth and sliding my hand up and down is very easy.
Action is fine as it arrived.
I usually have to tweak the setup a bit, but everything was just great right out of the shipping container.
$750 is the most I have ever paid for a guitar.
I must admit that I have never owned a Martin or an advanced level Taylor, but I have tried out several expensive Taylor Acoustic guitars at a Guitar Center in Tacoma Washington a few weeks ago. Honestly, I don't think they had any significant advantage over the AW3000. Another reason that I bought the AW3000 is that I was very impressed with the AW300CE that I had purchased previously. Like the Taylor BBT, to have laminate sides and back it has great sound. I just couldn't help but wonder how much better a guitar with all solid woods would be compared to the AW300CE. I was impressed.
I would say that I easily got my $$$ worth in this top of the line Ibanez.

Not gonna' lie. I love Ibanez electric guitars but I was never crazy about their acoustics in the past. I didn't like the feel of the neck, the factory set up, or the tinny sound I felt like they had. I looked at the specs on this model and felt that no other company would offer these features at this price point. So I went ahead and bought it without ever trying one out, figuring if the playability was an issue maybe my luthier could make some improvements. However, I loved this guitar from the moment I picked it up. I have made two recent purchases of Ibanez, an RG471AH and this guitar. Both have left me extremely satisfied with Ibanez quality.
The Grover tuners hold the guitar in tune extremely well and the brown pearloid color really makes the headstock pop. The LR Baggs Element pickup sounds great. When amplified it sounds like a louder version of how it sounds unplugged, as opposed to sounding completely different as some acoustic/electrics do. Rated it a 9 out of 10 due to there being no equalizer or built in tuner, neither of which are needed, but they would've been nice additions.
The solid wood back and sides are mahogany with a beautiful finish to it. The bone nut and saddle seem to be of much better quality than any synthetic material would be. The Advantage bridge pins are a nice addition as well. The D'Addario EXP strings sound bright even after two weeks of heavy playing. I believe the gauge they are strung with are .011, which I'll be switching to a .012. However the factory set up was perfect on all fronts. Would've preferred if the guitar had been made in the U.S. or Japan, but for a guitar made in China, you would have a hard time beating the quality.
To get this quality in a Martin, Gibson, or Taylor you would have to spend at least 1 1/2 times the money. And the case that comes with it isn't just a flimsy gig bag. The foam core is of fairly substantial quality. I was initially going to upgrade to a hardshell case, but the provided "gig bag" provides more than adequate protection for my purposes.
