OVERVIEW

A stage-ready Artwood with a solid engelmann spruce top, mahogany back & sides, and Fishman pickup.

With their full sound, strong bass, and clarity in chording and soloing, dreadnoughts have become the most popular acoustic body style. The AW300ECE dreadnought is a member of the Artwood Traditional Acoustic-Electric series. These performance-level guitars share many features and are distinguished by their body style and woods used.

If you need a traditional guitar that can easily switch from acoustic to electric, you've found it here in the Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. With a Fishman Sonicore Pickup and Ibanez SST Shape Shifter Preamp with Onboard Tuner, players will notice how smooth the transition is from acoustic to electric and back, and it will make playing live gigs so much easier.

The Ibanez Artwood AW300ECE has a big Dreadnought body with an even bigger sound. Its solid Engelmann Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides ensures massive tonal output and subtle harmonic response. Other refinements include a bone saddle on a distinctively contoured bridge and a headstock where tradition and modern style co-exist.

This Ibanez benefits from sophisticated electronics using a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner to faithfully reproduce exquisite acoustic tones at any volume level. The AW300ECE also features both 1/4" and XLR outputs for increased versatility.

Nice looking guitar, good acoustical volume. Neck was slightly bowed down with a slight twist and I found it rather large, just felt clumsy to play leads, a finished fret-board would have helped. It appeared to have a Bone Nut & Bridge and was flawless as far as construction was concerned, except for the neck issue. It also didn't have Grover Tuners as stated, they looked ok but not Grover's. I never plugged it in to an Amp. For the price it was a fair deal, just wish it would have been Inspected/Setup better from the factory. Overall for a first or second guitar it was well suited.

Ibanez Artwood Acoustics - Best acoustic for the price

By Justin Otis

from Omaha

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you are searching for a reliable guitar with stage-ready features, but cannot afford the price-tag of a Gibson, Taylor, or Martin, this guitar is meant for you. I play lead guitar in a 90's band, as well as some classical guitar on the side, and the Artwood guitars sound beautiful for both styles of music at both fast and slow tempos. I have achieved the best sound with a set of medium or medium-light Ernie Ball Earthwood strings. This is my second Ibanez Artwood guitar and I would recommend these guitars to anyone.
The features included on the Ibanez AW300ECE make it an excellent purchase for guitar players at any skill level. The Grover tuners keep strings in tune even after hours of use, or hours of sitting in the case, depending on how frequently you play. This Artwood is equipped with a bone nut and saddle, which provides much more stable tone and reduces buzzing compared to plastic or composite. The tapered-back dreadnought body and cutaway make the guitar comfortable for stand-up performances without compromising full-bodied acoustic tone when playing unplugged. The Fishman pickups allow a smooth transition from acoustic to acoustic-electric, without the metallic sound and feedback that comes with lower level electronics. Even the fickle can enjoy the features of this guitar as it is beautifully crafted in two colors styles. However, one of the best features of this guitar is the sound, provided by the unique body design. This guitar holds its tone even when tuned high and low. Many of the songs I play are tuned a full step up or a full step down, and the Artwood allows this transition without string breakage or buzzing.
I purchased this acoustic-electric after owning another Artwood for 5 years because no other guitar matched the Artwood quality for the price. I have not had a single problem maintaining my Artwood guitars; no truss rod adjustments, saddle or nut replacements, refretting, tuner-replacments or any other repairs have needed to be done, and it still sounds just as beautiful as when I first purchased it.
For this price, you will have a very hard time finding a guitar with the features and quality provided by Artwood guitars. Being a poor student, I took my time trying to find the best guitar for the price and played almost thirty different guitars in this price range before I purchased one. For those on a budget but cannot afford to compromise on features and quality, this is the guitar for you.

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had no intentions on purchasing the AW300ECE-DVS but once it was in my hands, I had to have it. It has a beautiful finish which is much darker then the stock photo, lower/great action, fast neck, and sounds like a $1000 comparison. I don't have any comments on the electrics because I purchased this Ibanez for it's rich acoustics (could care less if they even worked). If you're hunting for a $300 - $500 instrument, I highly suggest the Ibanez AW300ECE.

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a beautifully finished guitar with a warm and distinct sound you would expect from a much higher priced instrument. The neck has a satin finish that makes it super fast and is small enough in diameter to be played by those of us with smaller hands. The hardware is solid and smooth. Electronics are quiet as a mouse and don't use 9v anymore ( hate those things). Overall you can play it in your living room or for a living at will do you proud. PS built in tuner is super fast and handy.. Kudos Ibanez.

      Better than Expected

      By Chris Heineken

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar on a whim, there really aren't many reviews on the internet about this guitar or detailed photos for that matter, so I took a chance. It was an excellent purchase, The photo online does this absolutly ZERO justice, The finish is much darker and vibrant that the pic above on the Violin sunburst. Their photo almost looks as if they airburshed a picture. Beautiful guitar, beautiful sound.
It seems like a great guitar, I would give it a 10 if it was made in the U.S.A. Very well put together, Flawless finish.
For the price the sound is amazing.

      Solid Wood = Solid Tone

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My only complaint as I said before is the preamp. The finish is beautiful. The guitar plays so smooth and sounds amazing. This is my go-to acoustic. It stays intune very well (even in drop tunings.) I am in love with this guitar.
First let me start by saying that I am absolutley in love with this guitar. It is very well priced and packed with great features. I love the finish. ( I have the Dark Violin Burst) The neck joint is very comfortable and the heel doesn't obstruct your access to the upper frets. The satin finish on the neck is also a plus as it feels very smooth and fast. The cutaway is well done and doesn't seem to effect the tone. The engleman spruce top rings with amazing, sparkling clarity and the mahogany back and sides deliver all the fullness you would expect from a dreadnaught. Gold hardware in a big plus. The preamp is the only reason I didn't give it 10/10 for features because it sounds a little flat plugged in.
Top notch quality guitar. I played in side by side with several Big name manufacturers when I bought it and I preffer this one in both sound and feel. I've toured and flown with guitar and I did very well. I stayed in tune throught a non-stop flight from Tennessee to New Mexico.
$350 to $400 for an amazing acoustic/electric dreadnaught. This is a very well put together guitar for the money.

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you want a great acoustic electric that you'll be addicted to playing for hours at a time, buy this guitar. I can't wait to bust this girl out at a gig next month.
I really like the onboard tuner - easy to see and use, even in the dark. I also like the dual outputs. The additional XLR comes in handy.
I bought the vintage sunburst and its a real beauty to look at. I played almost every acoustic electric guitar at the local store before falling for this one. Then I went back and played my favorites over again and the Ibanez Artwood 300 won the prize. Sure, a few Taylors sounded and played better but this guitar was superior to ALL the rest.
Plugged in or unplugged the sound is crisp, clean, deep and rich. This guitar is definitely worth hundreds more than they are asking. Even the strings it came with were decent and lasted a few weeks. I haven't stopped playing yet.

      One Fantastic Guitar!!

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

First guitar I have ever purchased where it is playable straight from the box. Tuned er up and haven't looked back. No setup of anything required at all. No buzzes, rattles, crap, anything. Excellent overall tone in acoustic mode. Sounds great thru this little Yamaha amp.
      Has everything an acoustic-electric needs.
Little bit of filler/glue/something there where the neck mates with the body. Could have been cleaned up a bit better at the factory. Not detrimental to the playability of the instrument. Just tacky looking as compared to the rest of the fit and finish on the guitar.
Whole lotta bang for the buck!!

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

What else can I say. I love this guitar. I hope my wife doesn't get jeleous.
There is not one thing about this guitar I would change. I love the dark violin finish. The warm, deep tone. You can never go wrong with fishman pick ups. The tuner is dead on. The pre amp and eq works great. The "phase" feature works perfectly for eliminating feedback. Stays in tune. And the neck is fast. Hands down the best acoustic guitar I ever played (including the higher end ones I've own messed with a little in the stores).
There is nothing more I haven't already said about the quality of this guitar.
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because I think it should have come with a case. I was able to pick one up on MF that fit perfectly and even said Ibanez on it for a descent price.
