A stage-ready Artwood with a solid engelmann spruce top, mahogany back & sides, and Fishman pickup.

With their full sound, strong bass, and clarity in chording and soloing, dreadnoughts have become the most popular acoustic body style. The AW300ECE dreadnought is a member of the Artwood Traditional Acoustic-Electric series. These performance-level guitars share many features and are distinguished by their body style and woods used.

If you need a traditional guitar that can easily switch from acoustic to electric, you've found it here in the Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. With a Fishman Sonicore Pickup and Ibanez SST Shape Shifter Preamp with Onboard Tuner, players will notice how smooth the transition is from acoustic to electric and back, and it will make playing live gigs so much easier.

The Ibanez Artwood AW300ECE has a big Dreadnought body with an even bigger sound. Its solid Engelmann Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides ensures massive tonal output and subtle harmonic response. Other refinements include a bone saddle on a distinctively contoured bridge and a headstock where tradition and modern style co-exist.

This Ibanez benefits from sophisticated electronics using a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner to faithfully reproduce exquisite acoustic tones at any volume level. The AW300ECE also features both 1/4" and XLR outputs for increased versatility.

Nice looking guitar, good acoustical volume. Neck was slightly bowed down with a slight twist and I found it rather large, just felt clumsy to play leads, a finished fret-board would have helped. It appeared to have a Bone Nut & Bridge and was flawless as far as construction was concerned, except for the neck issue. It also didn't have Grover Tuners as stated, they looked ok but not Grover's. I never plugged it in to an Amp. For the price it was a fair deal, just wish it would have been Inspected/Setup better from the factory. Overall for a first or second guitar it was well suited.

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Delivered amazingly fast. The guitar plays easier than literally any other acoustic guitar I've ever owned. Beautiful tone and finish is immaculate. Best part about it is Musician's Friend customer service. I had issues with the ordering process and it took them a few days, but they not only made it right, they made it better than right. They are tops in my book and I will continue to order from them for all my musical needs from here forward. Thanks again MF.

          Great lil electric-acoustic...

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had acoustics that cost twice as much retail that I liked half as much. I got the vintage sunburst and it really is a nice looking guitar. This guitar really makes a sound when you start strumming it. Very impressed with the tone and the volume this thing puts out. Action is nice and so far it's staying very nicely in tune with little to no intonation issues right out of the case.

My only complaint, and its my fault really, is that it only goes up to the 17th-ish fret. Typically I've had ones that go up to about 20-ish. I do like to noodle a bit, but no big deal really. Strings don't bend too easy, but I'm out of practice with acoustics lately, so my hand and fingers are probably a little weak for that.

I got this in the winter sale for around 270 and I really could't be more pleased. I bought this as a temporary acoustic until I could pluck down more cash for a nicer one, but I don't really see the point now.

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a beautifully finished guitar with a warm and distinct sound you would expect from a much higher priced instrument. The neck has a satin finish that makes it super fast and is small enough in diameter to be played by those of us with smaller hands. The hardware is solid and smooth. Electronics are quiet as a mouse and don't use 9v anymore ( hate those things). Overall you can play it in your living room or for a living at will do you proud. PS built in tuner is super fast and handy.. Kudos Ibanez.

I had no intentions on purchasing the AW300ECE-DVS but once it was in my hands, I had to have it. It has a beautiful finish which is much darker then the stock photo, lower/great action, fast neck, and sounds like a $1000 comparison. I don't have any comments on the electrics because I purchased this Ibanez for it's rich acoustics (could care less if they even worked). If you're hunting for a $300 - $500 instrument, I highly suggest the Ibanez AW300ECE.

                Ibanez AW300ECE

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar for the $$$.
My only concern is with the electronic package. Looking on the internet ( a great way to foster paranoia, by the way) it seems there have been some problems with the SST pre amp. I'm hoping to find that a spritz of tuner/potentiometer cleaning spray and working the volume countrol through full range a few times will eliminate the dead spot. If not, I'll be looking for the Ibanez upgrade "kit" to install.
Bottom line, I really like this guitar. Almost as much as my Taylor Big Baby.
This guitar is really nice.Solid Engelman Spruce top makes for a full rich sound.

I bought mine used and found the volume control on the SST Shape Shifter pre-amp to have a couple of dead spots. Also, on occasion the tuner acts a bit "flaky". I get the string almost to tuned correctly and the display jumps from flat to sharp without ever stopping on the green "in tune" indicator. Then,at other times, it works great. Seems that Ibanez had a few problems with the earlier versions, but offer a replacment SST pre-amp "kit" through their authorized dealers.
The woods and the finish are beautiful. Sound quality is excellent unplugged.

Plugged into my Ibanez Troubadour T-10 the AW300ECE sounds like purely acoustic. But a few adjustments of the equilization and a tweek to the amp (chorus/vibeatto) and many other voices are also available. Very versatile.
There are better guitars available. Something with all solid woods (back and sides) in addition to the top. However for the price, it would be difficult to find a better sounding or better looking Dreadnought Acoustic than the AW300ECE.

Very solidly built. Full rich sound. Beautiful finish. Easy to play. Very versatile.

                One Fantastic Guitar!!

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

First guitar I have ever purchased where it is playable straight from the box. Tuned er up and haven't looked back. No setup of anything required at all. No buzzes, rattles, crap, anything. Excellent overall tone in acoustic mode. Sounds great thru this little Yamaha amp.
                Has everything an acoustic-electric needs.
Little bit of filler/glue/something there where the neck mates with the body. Could have been cleaned up a bit better at the factory. Not detrimental to the playability of the instrument. Just tacky looking as compared to the rest of the fit and finish on the guitar.
Whole lotta bang for the buck!!

                Best Acoustic Ever

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

What else can I say. I love this guitar. I hope my wife doesn't get jeleous.
There is not one thing about this guitar I would change. I love the dark violin finish. The warm, deep tone. You can never go wrong with fishman pick ups. The tuner is dead on. The pre amp and eq works great. The "phase" feature works perfectly for eliminating feedback. Stays in tune. And the neck is fast. Hands down the best acoustic guitar I ever played (including the higher end ones I've own messed with a little in the stores).
There is nothing more I haven't already said about the quality of this guitar.
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because I think it should have come with a case. I was able to pick one up on MF that fit perfectly and even said Ibanez on it for a descent price.

                Solid Wood = Solid Tone

                from Chattanooga, TN

Comments about Ibanez AW300ECE Artwood Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My only complaint as I said before is the preamp. The finish is beautiful. The guitar plays so smooth and sounds amazing. This is my go-to acoustic. It stays intune very well (even in drop tunings.) I am in love with this guitar.
First let me start by saying that I am absolutley in love with this guitar. It is very well priced and packed with great features. I love the finish. ( I have the Dark Violin Burst) The neck joint is very comfortable and the heel doesn't obstruct your access to the upper frets. The satin finish on the neck is also a plus as it feels very smooth and fast. The cutaway is well done and doesn't seem to effect the tone. The engleman spruce top rings with amazing, sparkling clarity and the mahogany back and sides deliver all the fullness you would expect from a dreadnaught. Gold hardware in a big plus. The preamp is the only reason I didn't give it 10/10 for features because it sounds a little flat plugged in.
Top notch quality guitar. I played in side by side with several Big name manufacturers when I bought it and I preffer this one in both sound and feel. I've toured and flown with guitar and I did very well. I stayed in tune throught a non-stop flight from Tennessee to New Mexico.
$350 to $400 for an amazing acoustic/electric dreadnaught. This is a very well put together guitar for the money.
