An affordable rocker with quality essentials!
A mahogany body, one-piece maple neck, thru-body bridge, and 2 Axis humbuckers give this guitar great response, full sound, and excellent sustain. It makes a great rhythm guitar, also capable of clear individual notes, and all the sustain you need for power solos. 2 volumes, 2 tones, and 3-way switching. If you're looking for overall quality, and can shine on fancy extra appointments (though it does have a bound neck), this may be just the guitar for you.
- Mahogany body
- One-piece bound maple neck
- Two Axis humbuckers

I have had this guitar for about 3 years now, and decided this IS one of the best guitars you can buy for the price. Mahogany body + sweet pickups....nuff said. I was playing a Les Paul Studio, but then I actually did a little tonal comparison and the AX won my heart. Playability is pretty average, although the guitar is VERY unbalanced when standing (the neck is heavier than the body) I have emailed Ibanez about this many times, but get no response?? I guess it's just more annoying than a problem. I also wish they would make this guitar in more than just 2 colors. even though the silver nickel is quite choice. If you are a beginner or a pro, buy one of these guitars, you'll fall in love for sure.

I've had my guitar for 3 years,I play heavy metal, I got it because it was cheep and i'm rough with my guitars, so i figured i'd tear this one up, but after playing it for a few shows it sounded great! It's a little heavy on the neck side you got to wrestle it a little but all in all a great sounding guitar. It's now my main guitar.

this is a very solid guitar. it has plenty of tone, and gives sweet distortion. It feels great to play, very comfortable. it's a little on the heavy side, so you gotta work a little harder when you're goin crazy at the shows, but overall a GREAT guitar, it will last you forever, from the momment you pick up a guitar till you're a pro makin it big, you won't want to play another guitar.
Well, I really don't know too much about guitars, but I do think this is a prime choice. My first electric was a "peavey raptor."lol. I can honestly say that this has a lot better tone to it.Even on my old kalamazoo tube amplifier, it sounds much nicer. One feature I was disappointed it did not have was the whammy bar.Other than that This guitar can go from mellow to crunchy!!Not to mention it looks nice, cuz it isn't real shiny,so no finger prints.I'd say it's a great choice!

Sounds nice, plays nice - great sustain for such a little body, thanks to the through-body string saddles. Feels nice overall, I definitely got my money worth. Tighten the hell out of the jack before you plug in though, it'll come loose.
I love this guitar. The action and intonation were set perfectly right out of the box. The action is good, but maybe not for lead shredders and people still playing those oldschool scale runs and notebendy pentatonic licks. It is GREAT for chunky rythem and drop-d. This is a very easy to play guitar, as if it were custom fit to my hands, better that my Les Paul or Tele. I might upgrade the pickups eventually, the stock ones are fine for now.DROP-D FOREVER!
this sucks. u can get a lot better guitar for the price.
Great clean-sound. Good fat distortion with limited feedback. Greatly enjoy the value for the price.
I just bought this guitar and I'm already in love with it. It has a very nice warm sound. The body is very comfortable to hold against your chest. The Grey Nickel color is very catchy and the finish is well done. I plan on using this alot and keeping it around a long time.
I bought the ax125 with the drop D switch in front of the bridge, and for what I paid the guitar is pretty sick. I have been told from a lot of experienced people that it has a vintage sound after playing it. The only downfall to this guitar is that the highs don't come out too good, but for a cruncher it chugs really good. Awesome for mainstream metal. I love it and I still use it when I play shows.
Yeah, this is my first electric guitar, and I find it outstanding. I've only tried others at friends houses and stores, and I like this one much more than the others.
